Do I tag this with my signature catch phrase, “Intriguing Sea Life,” or is “Intrigued Sea Life” more appropriate
An important perspective in light of recent events.

Sapp Coffee Shop, Los Angeles
I’m always looking for a good bowl of noodles when I travel, especially for breakfast, and last time I was in LA, my buddy Zach Brooks of Food is the New Rock insisted I had to try Sapp Coffee Shop for their amazing Thai noodles. Zack has never steered me wrong and this was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had all year anywhere in the world!
I texted Zach when I was on my way to Sapp that morning and his reply simply read, “Be sure to order the #3!”, which is exactly what I did.
“Do you like spicy?”, my waitress asked.
“Yes.”, I replied.
“How spicy?”, which is always a loaded question in Thai restaurants.
“Medium spicy, I guess?”, I sheepishly told/asked her, hoping for the best.
And it was.
This bowl of beef and broth was near perfect!
According to their menu, #3 is “Boat noodle soup with beef”…
However, their #2 is also “Boat noodle soup with beef”. When I inquired as to what the difference is, I was told that the #2 is “just normal beef”, while the #3 is “all the beef”, which is exactly what I wanted!
Sliced beef, beef meatballs, beef tendon and beef liver…
Then when you dig through the ultra rich beef broth to the bottom of the bowl, you’ll also find delicate, thin strips of tripe waiting for you…
The only thing not beefy about this bowl is the pork skin crackling they put on top!
Oh, and superb those boat noodles…
It’s like ramen met glass noodles and had a baby!
Just look at the way the beef bits and chiles stick to them…
All this gastronomic goodness for only six bucks!!
As if Sapp’s beef boat noodles weren’t enough to wake me up, I also got a glass of their Thai iced coffee…
This was indeed a breakfast that can’t be beat, and one everyone who’s ever in Los Angeles should hit Sapp’s to taste for themselves!
