Okay, how about we call her Oleander? That’s deadly and beautiful. It’s alright, Ric. We’ll just take the precautions we need to make sure that nobody finds out. Whether that’s code names, or throw away phones. I may not be that involved in this type of life, but I have seen the spy movies. A lot of them, actually. While I realize that’s not the same, it has to count for something. 

Oleander? Huh. I like it. It has a nice ring to it. Thanks for doing your research, kiddo. I don’t think anything like burn phones are necessary just yet. Just watch what you say and who you say it around. I’m planning on not having to keep the secret for much longer.

Her face fell, her smile growing and her cheeks burning red. “Oh come on now, babe. I just mean… If our families found out the truth, I don’t think either of us would be standing here right now.” She let her head rest against his shoulder as her hands played aimlessly with his. She fell more in love with him with every passing moment and it was both amazing and terrifying. He was everything she had ever wanted or needed. He was her dream come true. “Well yes, - — there was the day we first met, and then the day I knew I loved you, the day we merry will go right along with those.” She smiled, her bottom lip caught between her teeth as she looked up at him with a smile.

He hummed in agreement as he pushed the door to the roof open and allowed her to cross first before closing the door behind them. Their families would be at each other’s throats before either of them could say a word and they would both be under constant surveillance. Derek maneuvered his girlfriend so she was pressed against the door with his body caging her. He pushed a strand of her hair back behind her ear, his finger tips following the curve of her cheek. “Those were all very good days,” his eyes were drawn to her lips. He caught them in a kiss, eyes closed and reveling in her taste. Derek would never grow tired of kissing Gabriella. She was intoxicating from beginning to end and it was hard for him to keep to himself when they were out in the public eye. “I promise we will get there some day.”

Who’s going to hear me? I’m practically whispering, Ric. I know, I know, you two are at risk being together, so I guess I won’t say her name around you in a public. Let’s just come up with a code name for her, like we used to when we were kids. My vote is on Flower, honestly. Maybe Nightshade, because she’s deadly, but flower seems more beautiful. 

Sorry, I’m just a little paranoid about the whole situation. We’ve been doing so well at keeping the secret, I feel like it’s only a matter of time before it all comes out. A code name would be great. I think she needs the name of a specific flower. She’s not so generic as to have a remotely common nickname.
