OOC - Dropping

Hey guys, I’m really sorry to do this but I’m going to stop playing as Bubbles, as I don’t think I’ll currently be able to be active as him and I’d hate to hog him when I’m not doing much.

I really enjoyed playing as him and RPing with some of you, and it’s a shame there are some threads that are going to be unfinished now, and for that I am truely sorry.

If you’re interested enough, I might be able to do some private RPing with this headcanon. I’d also like to make it clear that I’m not leaving the group, but I won’t be Bubble Man, though I’m leaving the account open for reference.

Thanks for making my time as DWN 011 enjoyable!

Either way, no. I do feel closer to the other Second Gens, but I don't have any one favourite.

Any drawbacks to being an older robot?

As technology is constantly evolving, there are now new, more efficient parts and/or systems that I lack, and I therefore would need more maintenance than many newer models to keep me in best condition. I don't mind any of this, it's not like the newer robots around here are immune from this either. Their time will come too.

Having spent rather a long time alone in the water systems again, Bubble decided it was high time to resurface and maybe have a conversation with someone, if he encountered anyone else in the fortress at least.

He went through an airlock to meet up with the main pathways around the giant building that the others usually took, initially leaving behind wet footprints on the floor. In no real hurry, he began to slowly walk towards one of the kitchens, with the vague idea of having a snack in his mind.

He didn't have any plans to leave the fortress that day, the weather had been getting better, but that attracted much more humans to mill around outside, increasing the chance of being seen. No, today he didn't want to bother with that, Bubble just wanted to stay with his robotic brethren...if there were any around, anyway.

“Mhmm! Mhmm!” Ice vigorously nodded as he listened to Bubbleman. Yes, of course there were many things that had gone unsalvaged and odd creatures habitating deep in the unknown, those were all things he wished to see and learn about one day.

“T-that’s okay!” He responded to Bubble, he was just glad the other robot recovered from his moment of silence, he was beginning to get both worried and afraid… but he perked up!

“So… did you ever see anything cool while at sea Sir?” He looked up at Bubbleman with genuine curiosity, as if he was awaiting some grand answer.

Bubble knew he spaced out for too long and that it was better not do that again and make things more awkward than they already were. He should stay focused on the current discussion.

Smiling rather sheepishly now, Bubble considered the question for a few moments. "Well, I'm not sure how different our definitions of 'cool' is, so I'm not certain that what I've seen will meet your standards...

But there really is an awful lot that could count. I've seen entire schools of fish get rounded up and eaten in a matter of seconds, and even a plane crash on the sea...the people in it were ok though, it was near civilization instead of the open waters with nothing for miles. The most recent thing I've encountered is a whale skeleton. All the meat from its bones has been eaten and it's a perfect specimen!"

He focused on the little Ice Bot again, curious to see his reaction. Bubble wouldn't be too surprised if he hadn't impressed the other much, but there was still a chance, wasn't there?

Ice always had a tendency to use his selective hearing when dealing with those who weren’t exactly social. It was almost as he he unintentionally ignored the obvious negativity coming from his company. “Mhmm!” He nodded, Bubble caught on quickly. Ice was pretty relieved he didn’t pick on his size like others seemed to do. “I’m not really fast or graceful either… it kinda sucks when playing sports but I trek along just fine! But y’know, sometimes I wonder what’d it’d be like to be aquatic. Sometimes I explore underwater but I couldn’t do anything like you could probably do! You could probably find all sorts of things!” Ice’s eyes sparkled as he gave it some thought. Going into the deep and dangerous waters where treasure and sunken history lay, it sounded amazing and the adventuring spirit programmed within him ached for that amazement.

Feeling more comforted, Bubble listened to Ice talk with interest. He had been briefed on the First Generation of Robot Masters back when he was brand new, soon to be deployed to fight Rockman... it was so long ago now, and the briefing covered the combat skills the industrial robots had shown rather than their original, intended purpose. It was nice knowing they had other things to their lives to start off with.

He nodded every few moments, but stalled a bit when Ice started to gush about underwater and exploring it. "I can see how you'd find it interesting; the ocean really does have countless surprises and features. Some of the creatures there are difficult to compare to those you find on land as they no longer resemble organic beings."

Bubble wondered if he was going to go on and tell Ice that after the initial interest, it got very boring very quickly. Not unlike what he assumed the arctic to be like. Both were very isolated places in conditions too harsh for many things to survive. If you went too deep down, the pressure crushed you into a flat sheet of metal. If you strayed too far, a current could wash you away faster than you could swim. If you stayed down there too long, you'd run out of energy with no way of recharging. Though the sealife wasn't much of a danger to Bubble, there was very little he could do to interact with them. Plus, the odd splash of colour didn't balance out the dark blue surrounding you, everywhere you looked, occasionally turning inkier in worse weather.

He hadn't said any of this out loud, but he soon realised he'd been staring off into space the whole time he was thinking about it. "Oh! I'm sorry!! I was just...remembering some of it. Yes, when you get deeper less of the sun can filter through the waves, which is where the strangest things live. Some species live their entire life in utter darkness. But the more shallow areas with the sharp, jagged rocks or where there was a battle have some ship wrecks left, though the ones humans know about are mostly empty of things of value, and wooden ships rot down to very little with time." He smiled at bit at Ice, hoping he was still listening. "There are still many things that haven't been salvaged yet though, and it really is exciting finding them for the first time."

Kalinka shakes her head. “I don’t think we have met before…” She sticks her hand out. “I’m Kalinka, daughter of Dr. Cossack, who might you be?”

Bubble stood still for just a moment before crouching down a bit to shake her hand. 'Oh yeah, Cossack. Doctor Wily used the robots in one of his attempts at world domination,' Bubble recalled silently.

"Nice to meet you, Kalinka. I'm DWN-011 Bubble Man, and I'm the first aquatic Robot Master made. I believe your father has also made water-type robots, right?"

What's the best thing you've seen underwater?

To answer your question, it can be hard to choose, given how diverse and surprising the world is in the ocean. There's all sorts of sea life, sunken ships and structures. There are even underwater volcanoes in some areas which erupt. Aesthetically though, Coral Reefs are very attractive and come in many vibrant colours.

"Hello there! Who might you be?" Kalinka looked up at the aquatic robot master.

Bubbles felt a bit taken aback at being addressed by this young stranger. Politely! But who was she again? He felt like he ought to know, but it escaped him for now.

“Hello, umm, I’m Bubble Man. “What brings you here?” He hesitated a bit more before adding “and have we met before?

“Mmm, it is no trouble.” he stated, flashing a smile at the other bot. Hearing the other bot continuing to speak, Yamato nodded in response, showing that he was listening to him, making silent notes of what he was being told. Whether Bubble was a bot to be trusted or not, it was always worth having valuable information on others, even if just to be on the safe side. “Hmm, built for combat then, yes?” he commented, looking like he was in thought. He hadn’t expected the other bot to give up such sensitive information about himself, including the info on his weakness. Yamato could easily exploit that with his spear… but granted, Bubble still wasn’t aware of who the samurai was. “You certainly do look like you are built for water capabilities” he noted, glancing over the other bot’s aquatic features. “Hmmm, you are familiar, do you work around here?” he questioned, feeling out the other bot’s response. He knew full well he worked for Wily, but was curious to hear what the other bot might say in regards to the scientist.

Wrapped up in his cheerful mood, Bubble wasn't giving as much thought to the answers he gave as he was supposed to, and continued to answer the questions offered. "No, I don't work around here, I mostly do things around home, but that's far away from here, I have to teleport over this way."

"A-Ahh," Bubble noticed what he was saying at last and began backpedaling. "But I can't tell you everything about home, I don't even know all of it that well myself, heh heh... We're not allowed to bring guests, so I'm afraid I'm unable to show it to you," Bubble was starting to feel stressed again, as his systems were all screaming at him to stop talking about the Fortress.

"I'm sorry, I'm not so comfortable sharing this. I'm sorry." Bubble bowed his head sadly, feeling all awkward and flustered again. Even now he noticed the questions get a touch invasive, Bubble still trusted the Kabuki Warrior and wanted to answer his questions. Not only would it be more polite, it would also be such a nice way to unload months worth of repressed thoughts that Bubble had been stewing in lately. Alas, that was not to be and he had to swallow the thoughts and information. Bubble was left hoping the subject would get changed soon, hopefully he could regather the happiness he'd built up and eventually leave in a good mood. Maybe.

“That’s so cool! Man I bet if I were made to be aquatic it would make certain aspects of my job easier hmm..” He blinks “Ehh? Oh Yeah, I’m built to explore super cold areas, I’m IceMan by the way. I’m compact size to be energy efficient!”

Bubble felt somewhat taken aback by the cheerful tone from the pint-sized Icebot. Truthfully, he’d expected the somewhat annoyed tone he’d had the first time speaking to Ice Man to have soured the mood a bit, but in retrospect he didn’t want to isolate himself more, anyway. It was probably for the best that he wasn’t so intimidating.

“I see. If you went across long distances then your energy-saving stature must be useful. I suppose I can relate somewhat, as a ‘template’ of sorts for other water robots, I have some shortfalls and I’m certainly not the most graceful swimmer, but I can swim quickly and for long periods of time.”

Tell me what you know about your brother Flash.

Flash is sweet and kind but has incredible power as well. I like to just take it easy with him, as long as he doesn’t mind. I wouldn’t like to be on the receiving end of him when he’s angry or upset, though. But still, overall, he’s calm and so very nice.

What are your thoughts on your linemates?

They’re my brothers, and I love them all. We’re the first robots who were made for combat purposes and pushed limits beyond anything else. As much as I like the other robots who are around, nothing can replace the bond us Second Gens have.

I’d like to be less useless

I’d like to find a fulfilling purpose somehow, as my initial one is rather redundant nowadays. Therefore, I aspire to be able to do something new and do it well.
