sleep near other people so they can hear the idle sounds of them completing tasks

move to a different sleeping spot than where they had the nightmare

leave tvs / radios / phones on with noise

just not sleep (if you want to go the insomnia route)

sleep during the day in bright rooms

first, obviously, their ability to remember things and their coordination will go out the window

its likely they’ll become irritable or overly emotional

their body will start to ache, shake, and weaken

hallucinate if it’s been long enough

it becomes incredibly easy for them to get sick (and they probably will)

stay completely still until "danger" has passed; i.e. anxiety lessens

listen for something to ground me; e.g. a pet snoring or childhood clock ticking

Don’t play Itachi as aggressively over-protective, people. Itachi protects him from afar. Itachi wouldn’t get in people’s faces over being mean to Sasuke, he wouldn’t threaten them over it. He wouldn’t claim Sasuke is “his”, and he wouldn’t even fight to make Sasuke “his.” If Sasuke wants him, he’ll accept it. Sasuke’s not a possession, nor an object.

Itachi also wouldn’t smother Sasuke. He wouldn’t demand to be with him 24/7, he wouldn’t want attention every second. He’d let Sasuke go and do as he pleased, and when Sasuke wants to be around Itachi? Then he’ll be around Itachi. 

Itachi doesn’t value his feelings more than he does Sasuke’s. He would never claim Sasuke was frustrating him, he would never say he’s “tired” of Sasuke’s attitude, and he would never actually claim Sasuke was “difficult.” Whose fault is it for the way Sasuke acts? Itachi’s.
