i moved to New York with a job already in the bag. that was a little over two years and two months ago. since then, I've gone through so many changes. along with these changes has came a breakdown in my mental health. in order to better myself, I've decided to take time for myself.

i put in my two weeks at work on the 15th. i worked all last week. but it turns out i have 5 PTO days left. knowing they wouldn't pay me for them, I've decided to take them all this week, the final week of my "two weeks notice".

so essentially i get a week start on my summer off.

July and August will be all mine.

I've not had this much time to myself in almost ten years. i look forward to filing it up with time spent under the New York sun. adventures. some traveling around the U.S. hopefully. maybe even some traveling outside of. doing all the things I've not been able to since I've been stuck in a 8am to 6pm Monday thru Friday bum ass desk job.

a whole year has passed since i loaded up a uhaul and set out to my new home in Brooklyn.

my, what a strange year its been. various ups, many downs, but im starting to feel like this place is okay for me.

i still miss atlanta, my family, and my friends terribly, but life goes on.
