They tell me to reach for the stars
To jump and grab
Without regard
Reach and grab the brightest ones
I jump and fall
Yet I grabbed golden orbs
Shining like a golden sun, each and every one
I show and tell, excitement in my voice
But their shine would never be bright enough
So I jump higher, further
Till I reach the end of the world
Standing at the cliff
Sky full of stars, ready to be grabbed
None unreachable, except for one
The sun burning hotter
Brighter than any other one
They told me it would satisfy
So no second thought
I reached, I burned, I fell
Never to reach again
