Duru Draws Things

I used to read Sinfest back when it was a ripoff of Calvin & Hobbes (the late ‘00s, IMO the golden age of webcomics) and had a lot of fun with it really, the devil in particular was always great. What I’m really responding to though is, does Helmer even make anything any more? She made The Meek, won a bunch of awards, dropped off the face of the earth for like 4 years, reappeared again for 3 months, won a few more awards in that time, and then seemingly dropped it again. She’s the reason I haven’t trusted a story-driven webcomic in years - I don’t expect them to actually conclude anymore.

That’s why I keep harping on about how great Narbonic is; it actually does conclude, and does so in a satisfying climatic storyline that’s a payoff to a comic-long build instead of just “well I’m sick of this here’s an ending”

I think it’s worth pointing out that Helmer is still alive, and has been working on another comic while The Meek is on Hiatus. Mare Internum is just about to finish its run, and it’s really good!
