HERE GOES NOTHING!

THE SMILE IS MET WITH ONE OF HIS OWN , albeit awkward. He steps to the side as they enter the apartment , watching them as they look around the room with a mixture of curiosity and just plain awe. He looks back at the door , making sure that there wasn't anyone behind them - it's a two bedroom apartment , but with how this place works , you can never be too sure - before turning his attention back to them with a scoff.

They pause and do mental calculations. They'd probably take a plant first, if the place in question had any plants to take. Oxygen, you know. And then marshmallows, if the place in question had any marshmallows to take ( hopefully it would - any place worth visiting did ). And then a lamp. But only if there wasn't a flashlight available.

" My copper's going to be sooo oxidized by the t-time all this clears ! "

The bot kicked at the ground, steam billowing out from her cheeks as she pouted. Her copper was hard enough to keep in okay shape for the Walter Workers ! She can't even begin to think of what's going to happen here ! She can only hope The Spine was okay. That he was somehow miraculously okay in this like she was..

Or, y'know, at least - in theory that sounds like something they can fix up easy. There's gotta be copper lying around here somewhere, though Feldspar's not sure if she's made of heavier-duty stuff than what they might be used to... well, hey, improvisation is their specialty and they'll work something out. Feldspar tries not to let these things worry them. Feldspar tries not to let anything worry them.

"We-ell..." the word is drawn out as they twist and turn in the water, rolling onto their back, flipping over and swimming around her. They have never been one for keeping still, and the underwater environment has only made that worse. "You don't got a jetpack built into you, do you? Now, that'd make this easier." Feldspar has never sunk so rapidly as she seems to have, even with a suit and full gear on and in the heavy gravity of Giant's Deep. Realistically, they're not sure how much help they can offer: but Feldspar is not a particularly realistic individual on the best of days.

Water wasn't usually the biggest problem in the world for Rabbit. She stood outside during light rain, trudged through muddy trenches, even performed on a few boats ! But she was still metal and complex machinery. Being completely submerged was the fastest way to fry every micro-machine and circuit behind all that copper casing.

At least. That's what she originally thought. So when she opened her optics under the water again instead of powering off, she froze, afraid to move. " What the h-hell ? "

She couldn't stay in one place forever though, so the automaton swiveled on her feet trying to reorient herself, and lo and behold ! Her brother's roommate quickly fell into her range of sight. Rabbit took a few experimental steps, and was actually thankful for weighing a ton at the moment.

Obviously, this sight blows them all out of the water. So to speak.

It can't help but startle, seeing the other creature stare back at him from the murky water. Strange creatures are something it's very used to - look at him - but the water was something it very much was not. It's easier to get startled by anything here. It briefly waves once, rather awkwardly, before signing a response.

( Well... it technically is still a neat sea beastie, just, you know— half of the city is, too. Is Feldspar a little disappointed that they didn't get a new tail or extra teeth? Um, kind of, yeah. )

"Not in any of the ways that matter," one hand waves carelessly through the water as they circle it, and then circle again, pausing only long enough to watch what is being signed their way before they are on the move again. Being aquatic has provided Feldspar with even less of a reason to hold still than normal. "Sweet gills, though, look at this," and they bump right into the stranger's personal space to show them off. Feldspar's helmet had been ditched very quickly after hitting the water for the first time, though figuring out that they could breathe without it had been - at the time - an unintentional discovery ( which, as everyone knows, is the best sort of discovery ).

They matched her enthusiasm, which in turn made her all the invested in this conversation. The automaton idly twirled her hair around her finger as they said a bunch of words she didn't even begin to recognize, but she nodded along like she did anyhow...

And then Feldspar mentioned that they played the harmonica, and it was her turn to light up ( more than her actual lights allowed for ) with an assortment of whirs and clicks as she got a bit too excited. In her head, she was now looking at a possible busking partner.

" Gosh !! They took my melodica when I got here ! And my keytar... and my kazoo. " Rabbit slumped her shoulders forward and frowned , twitching her nose a few times, just for emphasis.

Melodica and keytars are lost on them, but... a kazoo! Now, they can rock with a kazoo. A few of the hatchlings way back home would futz around with them ( Feldspar, of course, was always quite taken with the harmonica - their very first love ). Aspiring astronauts on Timber Hearth all pick up an instrument. It's both tradition and something that's absolutely pounded into their heads by Gneiss the second anybody gets so much as an inkling of that good old, Outer Wilds Ventures-patented adventurer's twinkle in their eyes.

" Pilot huh ? I f-flew a spaceship once ! In the V-Vice Quadrant ! "

Rabbit had no license of any kind, and yet, she was the one they let drive the ship... and the car... She only crashed into a ballroom once ! That's a pretty good track record if you ask her ! The robot tossed her hair over her shoulder, pretty pleased with herself.

"No kidding! That's my specialty. Spaceships. You just so happen to be looking at the first Hearthian ever launched into space." A pause. "Intentionally." Because there was those incidents before with the— ah, never mind. Details, details. "First to land on Dark Bramble, too. First and only," because, you know, those rescue missions are taking a real long time, aren't they? Not that it matters now, of course.

As you approach the counter, the employee barely glances up from it's phone - instead it disappears into a back room before coming back with your item of choice: PERSONAL TRANSPORTATION (HOVERBOARD) under its arm.

It's all yours. Make sure to remove 100 Embers from your tracker.

HONESTLY , MAYBE HE COULD USE THE ROOMMATE. He was so used to a big , bustling house filled with workers ( and siblings that wouldn’t leave him alone ) , so the shift into an empty , silent apartment was one he still hasn’t gotten used to. He’s tried to get out of the house as often as possible for that very reason ── as much as he complained that he could never get peace and quiet back at home , now that he has it , it’s unsettling. He doesn’t like it anymore.

THE ONE REDEEMABLE PART OF THIS PLACE is the room called the “ENCOYtainment System™️”. It was a good distraction , and the closest thing to the Hall of Wires he was going to get. When he did have to be in the apartment , that’s where he spent a majority of his time. Just to cut through the silence as much as possible.

HE HAD JUST COME OUT OF THE ROOM when the door opened , standing face to face ── er . . helmet , with who he could assume was his new roommate. Either that , or they were really bad at breaking and entering. He blinked as the flashlight was shone at him , a hand raising with a hiss of his hydraulics to shield his eyes. ❛ Hey ! Watch where you point that thing. ❜

It's weird being without it; they technically didn't need it back in the Bramble, what with their emergency trees having sprouted so quick, but they'd not been super inclined to remove it, either. Not when an anglerfish could just bump into their camp and send it spinning off into the void whenever ( even if they did seem generally scared of it, so that's Feldspar 1, fish 0. Or maybe technically fish 1, because they did manage to sort of mangle their ship in the midst of their daring escape... fine, call it an even tie ).

They blink at the metallic being, crack a smile in his direction, and then get to moseying around the entryway, picking up things here and there and peering out the glass way down to the city below. What a view! What a height!
