Alright folks, I know i’ve been rather absent since the whole Tumblr Apocalypse thing, but here’s some Proof that I haven’t just been sitting on My Ass:
Announcing The Oracle!
A couple Months back, while I was working on the Mutophage, I had the idea stroke me of trying to play DND using a Deck of Tarot Cards in place of dice. Seemed like a silly idea, but as it happens sometimes, it stuck. I had seen a few classes out there that tried to make use of a deck of tarot cards in same way. but in most cases it was something along the lines of “I play this card to cast this spell” and felt more like a TGC than like reading tarot. I wanted to make something more integral. The Oracle is My take on support-centric class. By reading and manipulating fate, they are able to change the tide of battle, granting boons to their allies, and casting certain doom on their foes. This class is built from the ground up with the intent of feeling like an actual tarot reading when played. Having read tarot for almost 15 years, I worked to make sure that everything flows naturally in the same way as an actual reading, and in a way that won’t upset your deck. In fact, I designed the class to work as a great exercise in getting to know a new deck, or just learning the essentials tarot in the first place. If you love DND, and you enjoy Reading Tarot, you should definitely give it a read.
The Previews here are missing several pages of the greater arcana, for the full PDF check out the full class using this handy dropbox link. If you like what I do and want to support me, Check out my Patreon or Ko-Fi pages, or just come say hi on my Discord!
Tavern by Benjamin Masi
Concept: a D&D campaign that borrows the format of a Pokémon journey: the party is a bunch of goofy teenagers going on a road trip to brave the strongholds of legendary exemplars of the twelve core-book character classes and win tokens of their esteem. Each stronghold would be themed around the character class of its master: e.g., the Wizard would have a puzzle-filled dungeon under their tower; the Fighter would require the party to participate in a four-on-four tournament against other adventuring parties for the right to face them in battle; the Rogue would refuse them out of hand, but leave the badge in a conspicuous-but-secure location as an unspoken challenge to steal the dumb thing if they want it so badly; and so forth.
(This post is absolutely an invitation to come up with your own stronghold formats, whether they’re for classes that haven’t been done yet, or alternative suggestions for ones that have. For reference, the twelve core-book classes are Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock and Wizard.)
How does the lock dice work?
Sorry this took a minute to respond to, things have been nuts over here…
Okay! So, it’s actually a very simple design! The whole thing comes in two parts, like this:
On the left is the lock-shaped housing, on the right is the lockpick, which has all the numbers 1-20 arranged around the outer edge of the disc. The bottom of the lockpick disc comes to a point, like a spinning top, which is exactly what it is.
You thread the lock over the pick so the pick emerges from the keyhole in the lock, like this:
Now your lockpick die is all set. When it’s time to do a skill check, you hold the lock down with one hand for stability, and you twirl the lockpick with the other like a spinning top. After a moment, use your finger to nock the lockpick firmly down and reveal the result of your “roll”.
The window above the keyhole shows the number. In this case, I “rolled” an 18.
From behind, you can see the disc has teeth all around the edge, and there’s a point at the bottom of the lock that will catch between those teeth when you nock the pick to ensure it lands properly on one number instead of coming up between them.
And that’s how the lock-and-pick d20 works!
For rogues who are getting seriously into character.

Wizard who got tired of fighting and casts fucked up unethical spells like “super brain hemorrhage” to end them faster
One time I did “Summon Water” inside a guys lungs and the GM allowed it because he had been playing for years and never seen anyone do that
Me “I can raise the temperature of a space by 5 degrees (Fahrenheit) per success” DM “Okay.” Me “And that’s 6 successes, so 30 degrees…” DM “Okay…” Me “And ‘inside the human body’ is a space, right?” DM “…I don’t like where this is going.” Me “So I’m going to raise the temperature inside his body 30 degrees.” DM “Yeah, so he’s dead now. He was fine, and then went through all the stages of heat stroke in half a second before his body went ‘No thank you’ and just shut off to stop it from being so hot. Good job.”
Why... why?
In response to the racist fuckbags being racist fuckbags on my post about non-white elves, I want to promote a DnD 5e world setting I came across on Twitter called the Wagadu Chronicles.
You can find them here:
https://twitter.com/WagaduChronicle?s=09
They are self described as "An Afrofantasy World |
5e Pen&Paper Adventures & an upcoming online game"
Honestly it looks rad as hell, and you should all check it out.

The Half-Unicorn Race
DISCLAIMER: This is straight from DnD Beyond! I just wanted to add it to my blog because I couldn’t find any Unicorn homebrew! Enjoy! All credit goes to the original creator, Nerk from DnD Beyond! (If you are the original creator and would like this removed, please contact me!)
Half-Unicorn Race Details
Half-unicorns are humans who were enchanted by a unicorn while in the womb. While some see them as monstrosities or oddities, most look on them with awe, jealous that they were not chosen to be blessed with natural magic talent and an in with the celestials.
They are granted mystic powers simply by the nature of their magic blood, and most seek to make contact with the unicorn they are a product of. Although this is not a goal all strive for, many wish to meet the ones responsible for their abilities and way of life, driven also by an instinctive need to become closer with members of the celestial planes. Some even seek to live there.
Half-Unicorn Traits
Your half-unicorn character shares some qualities with celestials and unicorns.
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma and Wisdom scores both increase by 1, and one other ability score of your choice increase by 1.
Age. Half-Unicorns mature at the same rate humans do and reach adulthood around the age of 20. They live slightly longer than humans, however, often reaching 110 years.
Alignment. Half-unicorns usually share the temperament of the unicorns who enchanted them, valuing order and usually a level of selflessness. Though some have been swayed to darker goals, most half-unicorns lie around lawful good.
Size. Half-unicorns are about the same size as humans, ranging from 5 to 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 35 feet.
Celestial Blood. You know the Druid craft cantrip. Also, you can cast the Detect Evil and Good spell at 1st level as a bonus action once with this trait and regain the ability to do so every hour. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Calm Emotions spell at 2nd level with this trait and regain the ability to do so after a long rest. When you reach 10th level, you can cast the Dispel Evil and Good spell at 5th level with this trait and regain the ability to do so after a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Celestial Ancestry. You have advantage on saving throws to prevent being Charmed, Paralyzed, Poisoned.
Unicorn Horn. You are never unarmed. You are proficient with your horn, which is a melee weapon that deals 1d10 magical piercing damage.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common, Celestial, and one extra language of your choice.
Let it be known that despite saying like twenty times in the official printed publications of D&D that rules and such are up to interpretation and you can tailor the game, setting, and even rules to your exact specifications……. if anyone actually DOES that, some trog will crawl their way up out of the floorboards to make fun of it, compare it to something, or just generally shit on it lol
Homebrewers, keep homebrewing anything you want. Change races, change rules, change whatever.
Dragonborns with tails is just the CORRECT WAY to do dragonborn idc what anyone says
Wait. They’re not SUPPOSED to have tails? That’s not a thing???
Whose dumb not-idea was that?
I’d imagine it was to differentiate the Dragonborn from Half-Dragons, Draconians and Lizardfolk and the rest of the scaly humanoids
Predator-dreadlocks, 4 digits on their hands, no tail and…. apparently mammary glands (a hill wotc decided to die on when outrage happened when a artist depicted a Dragonborn with tits)
My favourite thing about the whole Dragonborn Boobies debacle is that it implies that D&D dragons are mammals – yet we know from other sources that D&D dragons also lay eggs. Taken together, this leads us to a single inescapable conclusion:
Behold, a dragon!
