Yes, there are many reasons why I am impressed with Durbe. As a newly qualified lecturer, I have my own personal opinions about this nerdy barian:
1. Standard(or we can say it typical) student hairstyle
His neat, silver-white hair looks like a typical student who always follows school dress codes.
2. The classic glasses look
He wears glasses, which is the universal "signature look" of a studious, hardworking high schooler, like a goofy bookworm.
Whether in human or Barian form, his clothes are always typical and normal, just like a well-dressed student in uniform.
4. Calm and relatable facial expressions
He doesn't have so many wild, aggressive expressions in anime. He looks calm, serious, and approachable—like a class monitor.
5. The ultimate "Class Monitor" vibe
Durbe is responsible, organized, and always tries to maintain order, exactly like a dedicated class president.
6. Loyal and protective friend
He cares deeply about his friends (the Barian Emperors) and always puts them first, mirroring tight-knit high school friendships.
7. Mature but still naive
He acts mature, but he can be easily tricked because of his trusting nature—a very common trait in teenagers in real life.
8. Peaceful and dislikes conflict
He prefers talking and reasoning over fighting, just like a student who tries to avoid school drama. Just like how he mediated the conflict between Vector and Mizar.
He carries a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and always tries his best to not disappoint others although that sometimes puts him at a disadvantage.
Despite his power, he never brags. He stays humble, making him a very likable and realistic character.
Durbe is a supporting character, but I was quite impressed by him, especially his human form. He wasn't overly flashy or flamboyant, but that's what made him special, and why I was impressed. I don't mention him too much in duels and past lives or Barian forms, but there's one aspect of him that caught my eye. For many, Durbe might not be particularly noteworthy, but some people like him because they can see him through different lens. Everyone has different feelings and perspectives, and this is a short article I want to share about my view of Durbe. Thank you 📖
