If this man doesn’t consider a sorcerer a proper magic user in the same sense as a wizard then he’s sure as hell not gonna feel much better about a bard.

I respect it tho.

I believe he‘d respect them more than sorcerers because sorcerers just shit out magic, absolutely no technical skill needed. But Bards actually study for years. They have to go to music instrument school and everything, it’s a whole ordeal.

It’s the same idea as, like, an Engineering student talking to an Architectural Art Student.

They have a certain respect for each other because “hey we both suffered and had to cry late at night because of buildings and corners.” But they are no where NEAR the same and the Engineering student is obviously superior and knows they’re obviously superior. The Architecture student probably knows it and embraces it too, they don’t care. They’re too busy smoking pot in their dorm while doing homework and weeping to Rhianna again.

As soon as the architecture student starts getting all high and mighty about their stuff and telling the engineer that they’ve suffered more than them? It’s all over.

You don’t understand the math, the intricacies, the basic principles of physics that they’ve had to deal with. You have no right to be all up in their shit.

And that’s how I’d imagine Gale being.

He’s fine coexisting but do not come to him with your bardic suffering. He has no regard for you especially if you’re only beginning to be friends. He has seen hell and tasted the Gods’ wrath with the weave, you just pluck strings and remember a ditty.

Of course Bards have a close aspect to the weave, in some ways it can be seen more difficult but in the end it’s not the same still.

Gale has had no cause to learn an instrument when studying the weave so he doesn’t understand the intricacies of it, but Bards also are most likely more limited in what they can cast so it’s not the same.

Something I want to point out in general is how people hide Gale behind his trauma and excuse his behaviour and attitudes when he’s tested on skill, or in general told something he doesn’t like i.e. when you say the sex was fine.

Trauma can be an explanation but not an excuse.

Don’t have to scold him every time but you don’t need to put up with that sort of stuff every time, it’s okay to stand your ground.
