usually being very careful but becoming reckless for the other

in the moment of death, when their life is flashing before their eyes, they only see images of the other

when recovering, they're being ever so gentle with the other because they were so close to losing them

tending to the other's wounds even though they're too weak themselves

blaming themselves for not having looked better after the other

not recognising the other's voice when coming to

being emotionally stunned until all the emotions hit them full force

having recurring nightmares of the near-death experience

"I would do it all over for you"

*muttering* "No, no, nonono! This can't be true"

"I thought this was it"

"You're never doing this again"

"Let me take care of you"

"My biggest fear was leaving you behind"

double seat at the cinema

going to dinner turns into a candlelight dinner

taking the other as a plus one to a wedding

answering the other's phone when they can't take a call

forced close proximity in a crowd

hands touching when reaching for something at the same time

repeatedly saying 'I just really like you'

hearing the other praising them in front of others

staying so often at the other's place that the neighbours are sure they're a couple

giving the other random gifts

'that made me think of you'

meeting their parents turns into a misunderstanding

'you've got there something at the corner of your mouth. still there' 'then you help me'

twitching at the other's touch

eye contact that's just that much too long to be normal

calling just to say goodnight

being each other's emergency contact

being surrounded only by couples

resting their head in the other's lap while rambling about their day
