Letters by Artyom from June 2 and 17, 2026
I'm not sure if a lot of people noticed or saw these in the larger letter archive, but there are actually two more letters from 2026! These were both sent to me by the very lovely Ekaterina :) They are much sweeter than the letter sent on July 26th.
While writing this letter, Artyom was in the hospital at the colony, just getting a checkup. According to Ekaterina, everything was fine and he was healthy, and he returned to the colony.
"You can look at this for a loooong time without looking away! What a beauty..." Artyom, ever the charmer :)
"It's nice to just read about how a person is having a cozy time." Artyom tends to ask a lot about the sender of a letter, what they like, what they do for work, what they do day to day.
"All day long I write letters, books, practice French, play chess, backgammon, just having a laugh with my companions." Is Artyom in a prison hospital or at a summer camp? Interesting to know he's learning French. In his letters to Daphne from 2023, he was learning German.
"... don't throw away even an empty "Nutella" jar - send it to me, I'll smell it =)" Good to know he's craving Nutella in prison.
"All the letters that were waiting for some kind of reaction from me." I cannot imagine how refreshing it must be for him to get a normal letter for once.
It's funny to me just how much he mentions TV and movies in letters. Seems like that's really all the entertainment there is in there.
"I'll run to my beloved job skipping and singing a song... some Evil Gnomes... =D" Evil Gnomes crumbs! It's nice to see he still thinks of it and remembers the songs from almost 20 years ago))
All in all, I think these are very sweet letters. Again, thank you so much Ekaterina :)
