The way he’s so focused on his sheet music before realizing the camera is there, only to smile so happily when he sees it. Then, he lets himself have fun before looking back to see the viewer’s reaction. His dog traits fully come through, looking for happiness in someone else’s eyes and the validation that he did well. It fills me with so much joy, I love how his ears flop all over the place. He’s so cute. This is nothing but a Rowlf appreciation post.

Another Muppets fic because I felt like it.

Whereas Piggy tends to keep her guard up around the other guys that aren’t Kermit, she frequently seems to drop it around Rowlf. Even outside of Veterinarian’s Hospital, she seems so comfortable around him, like she knows she can be herself without being used for her looks or insulted and riled up.

Blondetex would be Jack(son). In reality, that comes from the close friend I modeled his personality after. But in universe? He’d trace it back to “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. What can he say? He loves the holidays. (Reference “The Oh of Pleasure”)

General Knowledge would be Knolan Senior. Zero hesitation behind it, it’d come to him immediately. However, he’d refuse to use it when alone with the commandos. It’s either General Knowledge or 50 push-ups.

Hypothalamus would immediately try to name himself Hamlet. The commandos would try to get him to change it to something less brooding and melodramatic, only for Tex to jump in and rename him Harry.

Surprise. Here we go again. 

It’s honestly so difficult to work on something when you don’t have your entire heart in it. I’m usually a very structured person, but when it comes to hyperfixations I just end up all over the place. I’ll never abandon an unfinished work, but it just sits on my shoulders like a massive, stressful weight until I manage it. However, said “management” just doesn’t feel passionate and that frustrates me so bad. I want all my love to go into my writing and when it doesn’t, it’s agitating and I ultimately end up feeling like dejected trash.

Knowing the morbidity of the show, I feel like that’s a backstory they’d actually go for. They’d have a full length episode about Flapjack searching for his father, only to come across the sole survivor of the incident who goes, “Yeah, uh...he DIED.”

I totally get why his personality would lead to a well-constructed AU like this, but I personally can’t see it based on how I interpret the character.

Cortex absolutely strikes me as someone who’s emotionally fragile. He undoubtedly carries a lot of anger regarding that replacement, but instead of taking it out on others, he seems like the type to take it out on himself.

An example of his severe distress and self-blame when faced with failure is actually in the demo audio, when he’s under the impression that he got Bobby in trouble with the principal. If you listen closely, his voice breaks and he sounds like he’s about to start crying. You can hear the exact moment that cocky, confident front collapses, and I built a lot of my characterization for him based on that. (More text under the video)

Cortex talks so much trash about the corporation in my AU, but what does he actually do to take it down? Nothing. He concludes that he can’t do anything out of fear (which he isn’t wrong for), and that wrath and sorrow end up psychologically harming him, and him alone. If he were to execute a revenge plan on Buzzy, I think something similar would go down.
