Legend of a Legendary Warrior of Legend

Po was fascinated by the old master. His words never failed to amaze him, and even though he wasn’t entirely sure, what Master Shifu meant, he still had a tiny hunch what it was about. Sometimes Po just had to look at a customer at his dad’s noodle shop and he could tell that they were a lousy tipper... But maybe that had to do more with the looks and overall feeling of the person, not just the eyes. 

“You are so wise”, Po mouthed almost silently and looked at Shifu with awe. 

The Soothsayer remained neutral-faced, somewhat exasperated. “Maybe you can learn how to stop preemptively griping before a point is fully made,” she shot back.

The Soothsayer was right. Po glanced down at his feet, being a bit embarrassed by his own shortsightedness. Why did this happen every time he had a conversation with a person who was much older and much wiser than him? 

Po listened to what the Soothsayer had to say. He looked at her with wonder as an excited little smile spread on his face. 

“Is  – is this “a lot to learn” something I can achieve at this pace?”  It wasn’t exactly a secret that Po had learned and mastered things that took years or even decades for a significant amount of other Kung Fu warriors to master.

“You. You’re afraid.”

“People are counting on us. The galaxy is counting on us.”

“I’m never touching that thing again. I don’t want any part of this.”

“I know what I have to do, but I don’t know if I have the strength to do it.”

“And you looked at me like no one ever had.”

“You don’t know a thing about me. Where I’m from. What I’ve seen.”

“I can’t explain it. And you wouldn’t believe it.”

“I used to wonder about that myself. Thought it was a bunch of mumbo-jumbo.”

“You will remove these restraints and leave this cell with the door open.”

“I’m not sure what we’re walking into here.”

“I didn’t know there was this much green in the whole galaxy.”

“I’m being torn apart. I want to be free of this pain.”

“Women always figure out the truth. Always.”

“You can’t be so stupid as to think this will be easy.”

“They’ll slaughter us. We all need to run.”

“How do we blow it up? There’s always a way to do that.”

“If you live long enough, you see the same eyes in different people.”

“Oh, really? You’re cold?”

“I’m in charge. I’m in charge, now. I’m in charge!”

“Little bit more to it than that. You got a lot to learn.”

“Same thing I always do. Talk my way out of it.”

“ No matter how much we fought, I’ve always hated watching you leave.”

“I wouldn’t be nice to you. Doesn’t pay much.”

“I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”

“I didn’t lose it, dad”, Po said as if he was still a teenager ready to be left home alone for a few days. “I know where the lantern is! The... location of it, though, miiiight have slipped my mind.” 

“Yeah, but if we don’t get these Mooncakes ready for the Mid-Autumn Festival, it’s gonna be my dads, Master Shifu, the rest of the Five and the whole Valley of Peace AND the Universe who are gonna breathe down our necks.”
