Beyond the Letters: KD Tax Intern
What is your job? This past spring I worked at Bohl, House & Samek, a local accounting firm, as a tax intern. How did you get it? I heard about the job opportunity through one of my Panhellenic sisters that knew the hiring director. What do you do? I spent my time there preparing client individual income tax returns, assisting in various accounting projects throughout the firm, and supporting the department by performing general office duties. Is it related to what you want to do in the future? I plan on working in public accounting following graduation so it was the perfect opportunity for me How has Greek life impacted you? Greek life has given me a community that pushes me to be my best self. Being in Kappa Delta, has helped me become more confident. Iâve expanded my understanding of other people and their backgrounds and Iâve experienced true friendship. My communication skills have grown and I can more easily talk with individuals and groups of people. I would highly encourage anymore thinking about joining Greek life to do so. Itâll be one of the best decisions youâll ever make!
Disaffiliation 101
So you're probably tired of hearing "I'm disaffiliated and can't tell you what chapter I'm in", "She's disaffiliated so she isn't a part of a chapter right now" and so on. So what's the big deal with hearing stuff like this? Why is it such a secret and no potential new member can know while going through formal recruitment? Well hopefully after reading this you'll understand why women on the recruitment team are required to be disaffiliated.
Being disaffiliated means that women on the recruitment team (all 6 recruitment counselors and the 3 officers) have taken off their letters temporarily to be unbiased during the formal recruitment process. These women will not participate in recruitment through a specific chapter and will be helping with Panhellenic sorority recruitment instead. Being disaffiliated means not attending any chapter-related things until after Bid Day. Having these women being disaffiliated is so important because they are neutral to the recruitment process and although they are away from their home temporarily they are more concerned with helping women who go through recruitment find theirs.
Being disaffiliated is not an easy process. This means being away from your sisters, best friends, and family during recruitment. But even though it may be difficult it is well worth it. Whenever we all run back to our chapters on Bid Day we know we've changed the lives of so many women.
During recruitment, if you notice you do know the affiliation of someone on the recruitment team make sure to keep their affiliation secret. It is important that someone's affiliation is not a guessing game so please refrain from figuring their affiliations out.
Next time you hear "Sorry I can't tell you what chapter I'm in because I'm disaffiliated" I hope you now understand why and how important it is we don't tell you. Being disaffiliated is hard, but we wouldn't be doing it if we knew that it wasn't worth it in the end. This team is full of some of the strongest, genuine, and kindhearted women and they can't wait to meet you. Always remember to rock on and go Greek!

Beyond the Letters: Zeta in the Public Defenderâs Office
Meet Jayne Roller.
What is your job? I am working at the Missouri State Public Defender's Office.
How did you get it?
I contacted Drury's Career Development Center where Emily Buckmaster put me in contact with Jody Austin, a Zeta Alum from Drury. I met with Jody and then communicated with her through the end of the spring semester and she helped me work out a place that would be the best fit and who needed help over the summer, which ended up being the Public Defender's Office!
What do you do?
I mainly shadow the two investigators at the office (both of whom are women!). We visit Greene County, as well as neighboring counties such as Taney, Christian, and Dallas County, serving subpoenas and interviewing/meeting with clients in prison. I also get to hang out with the attorneys in the office, and hear about the cases they are dealing with. I am also sitting in on court dates/trials etc. that our attorneys have. Pretty much I go where I am needed and/or where I can be exposed to interesting aspects of the legal process.Â
Is it related to what you want to do in the future?
This internship will fulfill requirements for my Law and Society minor as well as my majors in the Behavioral Sciences (Sociology and Psychology). I am not necessarily looking to enter into the criminal field, however, I am gaining a lot of hands-on experience in the legal system and the ways that psychology and sociology overlap into the legal fields. I have considered careers in both law and psychology, so it is possible that my future career could have something to do with what I am currently learning at the internship.
How has Greek Life impacted you?Â
Honestly, how hasn't Greek Life impacted me? I owe so much of my growth as a college student, and as a person who is confident in who they are, to Greek Life. Getting to be a part of such a unique and tight-knit community has been a truly amazing experience, and has helped me to meet so many wonderful people that I know I wouldn't have been exposed to without Greek. I was never a wallflower, however, I didn't use to be even half as sure of myself coming into college as I am today. Zeta has been a support system, a confidence booster, and the most wonderful resource to me, and I know it will continue to be so past college. Zeta has given me some of my very best friends, role models, scholarships, recognition, a growing legacy, and so much love. I truly cannot imagine my college experience without Greek Life, nor would I want to. I can honestly say that joining Zeta and becoming an active member of Drury's Greek Life has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have learned who I am and who I want to be from being a part of this community; something that I will always be grateful for.
Beyond the Letters: Tri Delta Art Assistant
Meet Morgan Prosser.
She is here to tell you about the opportunity that a Delta Delta Delta alumn gave her that is helping her further her career!
What is your job?
I work with Hannah Bunch, a Tridelta alum as her intern. One of Hannahâs majors during undergrad was Arts Administration, which is a major I am now currently in.
How did you get it?
In all honesty, I jokingly commented on one of her Instagram posts and asked to be her assistant. I was half joking, but at the time I desperately needed a job and really wanted something within my future career field for valid experience. I was so surprised when she DMâd me on Instagram asking if Iâd be interested in actually helping her! Â
What do you do?
Hannah teaches painting classes which I help with, mostly set up and tear down as well as taking some pics for her and encouraging her clients. Hannah also has a strong social media presence which I help maintain, mostly through Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook. In addition, I help her contact possible clients, booking classes, finding places to hang and sell her artwork. We are also currently working on a marketing plan to increase her demographic, which Iâm super excited about!
Is it related to what you want to do in the future?
YES! Hannah is familiar with my current professors and job experience with non-profits. Iâm still not exactly sure which direction I want to go yet, but getting hands-on experience with an artist through marketing, promoting, selling and creating has given insight into the life as an artist and what is needed to succeed when working with a nonprofit. She is also very connected and knowledgeable when it comes to networking, which is so so crucial if you want to make it in the art world. Through Hannah I have met potential employers, coworkers, and friends.
How has Greek life impacted you?
Greek life, specifically being in a sorority, taught me how to be a dedicated and focused woman. When I first came to Drury I felt so small and young and inexperienced, which I was. I was intimidated by how put together the women around me were. Being surrounded by driven and strong women forces you to also become one, whether you realize it or not. I have now accomplished things I could never dream of, like becoming the President of an organization on campus, studying abroad, and triple majoring. Being in a group of people like that makes a shy, anxious and frankly irresponsible 18-year-old girl into a confident woman who refuses to settle for anything less than achieving ultimate success. Greek life has been one of my biggest blessings, and I cannot wait to see what else is to come in my last two years as a Tridelta woman.

Beyond the Letters: Pi Phi Pharmacy Tech
Meet Madeline Clark.
For the summer, she got a job through her chapter (Pi Beta Phi) and is here to tell you about how Greek Life gave her more than just friends!
What is your job?
Pharmacy Tech for a local pharmacy group! I work at all three of their locations around Springfield. (Medicine Store, Medicine Shoppe, Midtown Pharmacy)
How did you get this position?
One of our alumni advisory committee members knew I was looking for a job in a pharmacy and reached out to her friend who is the Operations Manager at a local pharmacy. My AAC texted me and told me to send in my resume! After an application and interview, I got the job! Having no previous experience working in a pharmacy, I have no doubt in my mind that I wouldn't have gotten it without the help of my alumni connection!
What do you do?
I help check out patients, call patients, and dispense and count the medication into the bottles before the pharmacist checks it!
Is it related to what you want to do in the future?
YES! I want to become a pharmacist, so getting this type of experience in undergrad helps me immensely!Â
How has Greek life impacted you?
Honestly, how has Greek life not impacted me?!? Greek life has by far been the biggest part of my college career, (besides academics, of course đ)! I have served on our executive council since my freshman year, and now I am honored to serve as Chapter President! These leadership positions have given me the opportunity to serve on other officer boards around campus and be an Elevate (leadership development program) facilitator! My sorority has made me more confident and constantly been there to support me through everything! I know it sounds so cheesy, but Pi Phi has given me my future bridesmaids and friendships I will cherish way longer than my four years at Drury. To girls with the choice to go through recruitment: if you are hesitant about going through recruitment and joining Greek life for the fear that it is too much of a time commitment or that you won't get out very much, let me be completely honest, I have gotten an exponential amount more out of being in Pi Phi than I ever expected to get. The opportunities I've been given are unmatched and everything has all been so so worth it! I hope you will consider giving it a chance, and I look forward to meeting you in August!
Rho Chi 101: Sophia Thompson
Meet Sophia Thompson
I am going to be a junior music student! I love to sing, watch vines, hammock, read good books and watch Ghost Adventures. I can also rap all of Ice Ice Baby and Baby Got back, which is kind of cool. My secret talent is that I'm super good at the claw machine games. I know, of all the talents I could have been blessed with... but who can complain?Â
Why did you want to be a Rho Chi?
I wanted to be a rho chi because if I could help a group of 10-15 of amazing women find their home in Greek life I could think of absolutely nothing better.Â
Why did you Go Greek?
I went Greek because I wanted to find a group of people who appreciated me for I was and had similar values to me! My whole family has gone to Drury and is Greek. I have all four sororities and fraternities form Drury represented in my family and I think it's really awesome that I get to carry on the tradition.
Worst part about your recruitment experience?
The worst part of my recruitment experience was narrowing down which chapter I fit best in. All of the sororities have amazing women who I connected with, but it was hard to drop a chapter. But in the end you have to what is best for you.
Best part?
The best part of recruitment was getting to know the girls! Before coming into the recruitment process I made some pretty great friends (Madison Hadler) but through going through and meeting girls in all four sororities I made some friends that I will have forever and I found an appreciation for people who are not like me and have different values, and aspirations!
Advice to PNMS
My one piece of advice for PNMs is: remember this is about YOU. It's not about where your friends want to go or which chapter they connect most with. It's about you, how you're feeling and where YOU feel the most comfortable. I can honestly say that even if your friends you had before recruitment end up in a different chapter than you, you will still be friends!!!
What are you most excited about for this years recruitment?
BID DAY IS THE BEST DAY. I love seeing everyone in the ballroom anticipating to find out their new home in Greek life. I remember when I was in the PNMs shoes and I was so excited to open my envelope to find my chapter I couldn't help but tear up because you could just feel the energy in the room (also probably because I HAPPY CRY AT EVERYTHING) and it truly is an amazing experience.Â
Favorite part of Drury Greek life
My favorite part about Greek life is truly the community that it is. Sure we are all a part of our own chapters, but I have friends in every chapter on campus, sorority and fraternity. When we come together for Greek events like Greek week or even events that specific chapters put on everyone is a family and we come together to support each other.
Rho Chi 101: Madison Hadler
Meet Madison Hadler.
I am going to be a Junior at Drury studying Strategic Communications and Political Science. My favorite color is blue and I love bunnies. You will probably hear me yelling down Drury Lane throughout the year, as I have been told that you can do. I am from St. Louis and I cannot wait to meet all you amazing ladies.
Why did you want to be a Rho Chi?
As much as I love being apart of my specific sororityâs recruitment, I love Panhellenic more than anything. Since being on Panhellenic, I have seen our greek life love grow and am just so excited to get as many girls to Go Greek as possible! I remember being so stressed out during my recruitment and how much the Rho Chiâs helped me to figure out where I wanted to go. I want to do this for my girls as well. I want to be able to help girls find their future best friends!
Why did you Go greek?
Funny story actually, my dad wanted me to Go Greek. My brother was in a fraternity at Mizzou and my dad saw how many job opportunities and experiences he got through that, so he convinced me to check it out. I went through the suite tours on FFD and just LOVED how friendly everyone was and how they wanted to get to know me. Greek life at Drury seemed so much different than at big schools (and it is!!). Easily the best decision of my college career.
Worst part about your recruitment experience?
The worst part was being conflicted on where to go. I was stuck between two chapters and it sucked watching some of my friends to go other chapters.
Best part?
Finding my amazing people and knowing that even though some of my friends went to different chapters, we still remained best friends.
How was your Rho Chi?
My Rho Chi did not stand out to me in a specific way, but the rest of them did. I remember being in the bathroom all frazzled because I didnât know where to go and one of them walked in and talked to me, calming me down.Â
What kind of Rho Chi do you want to be?
I want to be one that anyone can go to, not just my girls. I want all the PNMâs to feel like they just joined a family of all the chapters, not just the one they decided to go to.Â
Advice to PNMS
Donât be afraid to put yourself out there and keep an open mind!! I ZERO PERCENT wanted to join Greek Life and thought it would be so stupid, but now here I am. Even if you donât think you will like it, try it! You can always stop if you donât feel like it is right for you.Â
What are you most excited about for this years recruitment?
Being able to spend it and get close with my other Rho Chis and Panhellenic family. Also to run home again on Bid Day.
Favorite part of Drury Greek life
Feeling like I am apart of something bigger than myself.
Rho Chi 101: Lauren Slamb
Meet Lauren Slamb.
I love meeting new people & having a good laugh. I am a Strategic Communications student that wants to go into advertising for Disney.
Why did you want to be a Rho Chi?
I wanted to be apart of the journey to help girls find their home.
Why did you Go Greek?
I needed something to push me to step out of my comfort zone & going Greek did that for me. It surrounded me with so many strong & supportive women that love me unconditionally.
Worst part about your recruitment experience?
I had a hard time connecting with the other girls in my group.
Best part?
Going to the different chapters on philanthropy night & really getting to see what it is that motivates people to help others & what philanthropies they are truly passionate about.
What kind of Rho Chi do you want to be?
The kind of rho chi that they need, someone that 2 years down the road they can still call me if they need me because I wonât be just their Rho Chi, Iâll be there friend.
Advice to PNMS
If you see someone you donât know yet, change that. Get to know as many people as you can bc you never know which person will change your life for the better
What are you most excited about for this year's recruitment?
Meeting everyone!!!! AH!!!!
Favorite part of Drury Greek life
The people, by far.
Rho Chi 101: Josie Kaderly
Meet Josie Kaderly.
I am a senior, and Iâm majoring in Graphic Design, with two minors: Communication and Business Administration. Iâm from Lamar, Missouri. I love Drury so much and I wish I could stay here forever! I love all things artsy and crafty, and also love being outside.
Why did you want to be a Rho Chi?
I looked up to my own Rho Chi so much my Freshman year, and from the day I met her I aspired to be like her one day, and I hope to be as inspirational to PNMs as she was to me.
Why did you Go greek?
I knew that Greek life at Drury was different than at most schools; Drury Greek life is all about bettering the community while making lifelong friendships and I saw it as a great opportunity.
Worst part about your recruitment experience?
The worst part is having to choose! Every chapter is so amazing and I could have fit in each of them. It was hard to narrow down which one I thought I would flourish in the most.
Best part?
My favorite part was meeting so many people. Especially as a freshman, it was intimidating because I didnât know anyone on campus. Going through recruitment was a great way to have conversations and begin building friendships, which led to me not being able to walk across campus without seeing a familiar face.
How was your Rho Chi?
My Rho Chi was such an inspiration to me. She was so kind and passionate about Greek life and helped me through recruitment. I remember texting her before pref round and asking her to help me decide between two outfits. The way she loved us and portrayed Greek life was awesome and I aspire to be like her still today.
What kind of Rho Chi do you want to be?
I want to be a Rho Chi who is a safe place, solid ground for girls who are experiencing the tough decisions while going through recruitment. Itâs so hard to balance everyone else's opinion of what decisions to make, and I want to be someone who helps an individual look inside and discover her own true desire.
Advice to PNMS
Everyone will say this, but only because itâs so important: Keep an open mind! Iâm so glad I kept my mind open during recruitment because now I know for sure that I made the right decision. If you only do what your friends want you to do, there is so much potential for regret. You are your own person and you must listen to yourself and let each chapter speak to your heart.
What are you most excited about for this year's recruitment?
Iâm most excited to build friendships with younger girls. I have so many friends who were seniors when I was a freshman and now itâs my turn to be the older friend who gives advice and provides counsel for the younger women. I never thought I would get to this position but itâs happened and now Iâve learned the wisdom I need to help out the incoming girls.
Favorite part of Drury Greek life
The best part about Drury Greek life is that each chapter gets along with the others so well. I have close friends from each chapter. Itâs a beautiful thing to connect with everyone instead of having rivals and trying to compete. There is so much Panhellenic love here!

Anya is live and ready to show you everything. Watch her strip, dance, and perform exclusive shows just for you. Interact in real-time and make your fantasies come true.

Rho Chi 101: Aubrey Nielsen
Meet Aubrey Nielsen.
I am on my third year and second major here at Drury. Right now I am a Secondary Education and Biology major with a minor in Spanish, but my freshman year I was going for a degree in Biochemistry. I am also on the cheerleading team here at Drury. When I graduate, I would love to teach high school science somewhere in the Springfield area and to keep up with my passion of cheerleading through coaching.
Why did you want to be a Rho Chi?
I debated on applying to be a Rho Chi my sophomore year, but I decided not to because I wanted to go through recruitment as an active member with my chapter first. When applications were sent out this year a lot of the girls in my chapter told me that I should go for it and that it would be something Iâd enjoy. However, the deciding factor was how great my Rho Chi was my freshman year. I had an amazing experience with recruitment and most of that was due to how fun and friendly my Rho Chi was. I want every PNM to have as great of an experience as I did with recruitment.
Why did you Go greek?
I never thought I would go Greek. Itâs just not something I would have ever seen myself doing. Being on the cheer team and having a difficult major my freshman year I thought that I wouldnât have time for it. My roommate was going Greek and convinced me to at least go through recruitment with her, so I did. I signed up last minute at the activities fair. After spending the summer with the cheer team I still didnât really connect with them, so I was hoping to find my home through Greek life.
Best Part?
The best part about recruitment was being able to learn about each chapter and see what theyâre passionate about. Each chapter is so unique and it was really cool to see what each one valued most.
How was your Rho Chi/What kind of Rho Chi do you want to be?
As I said earlier, I had a great experience with recruitment and with my Rho Chi. I was super nervous and didnât know a single thing about Greek life when I came to college. My Rho Chi was really good about explaining things as we went through recruitment and making me feel confident in my decisions. I was really unsure about my decisions on the final day and my Rho Chi ensured me that I was making a good choice and that I would be happy. I found my home and I want to do everything I can to help PNMs find their home here on campus.
Advice to PNMS
My biggest advice to PNMs is to keep an open mind! Keep an open mind about Greek life and keep an open mind about the chapters in general. When I went through recruitment I didnât know anything about any of the chapters and at the time I hated being clueless. But, looking back on it now I think that it was a blessing in disguise. Donât let anything anyone has told you or any stereotypes influence your decisions. Keep your mind and heart open when you visit each chapter and really listen and learn what theyâre each about. You may be surprised!
What are you most excited about for this yearâs recruitment?
I am so excited to work closely with the recruitment team! Each person is such a strong woman that I look up to and I cannot wait to learn from and grow with them. This is an absolutely amazing group of people and I truly think that the PNMs are in the best hands.
Favorite part of Drury Greek life?
My favorite part of Greek life is the connections you make around campus. Through philanthropy events, exchanges, and events such as Greek Week, Iâve gotten the chance to become close friends with people I otherwise wouldnât really talk to. Greek life at Drury is really just a huge family thatâs always there to support each other. Youâll see members from every fraternity and sorority at every event. Seeing that support at your own chapterâs event is one of my favorite things to see and one of the best feelings.
Rho Chi 101: Anissa Wiant
Meet Anissa Wiant.
Iâm a senior music therapy major from Bonne Terre, MO. I have a twin brother (no we arenât identical) and three pet siblings (a dog and two cats)
Why did you want to be a Rho Chi?
I wanted to be a Rho chi because I found my home at Drury and in Greek life especially, and while recruiting can help, the recruitment counselors are truly the women who get to hands-on help those going through recruitment on the journey of finding their home. The relationship between Rho Chi and PNM is one thatâs truly special- and I wanted a part of that!!!
Why did you Go Greek?
I was having a really hard time when I went through spring recruitment, and my friend invited me to a recruitment event so I decided to check it out. I walked into the suite and instantly felt like I was at home and loved by all in the room. I couldnât stay away after that moment.
The worst part about your recruitment experience?
The worst part was for sure the waiting. Waiting for the bids. I was so anxious the whole time.
The best part about your recruitment experience?
Like I said before, I walked into the room and instantly felt a vibe I knew I wanted to keep around. It felt so comfortable, safe, joyful, and welcoming.
How was your Rho Chi?
I didnât have a Rho chi because I was EDGY and didnât go through formal recruitment.
What kind of Rho Chi do you want to be?
I want to be the mom Rho Chi. Iâm kind of a mom friend- I canât help it. I enjoy seeing people comfortable, happy and taken care of. My goal is to make sure all those things are fulfilled during recruitment, as well as to help the ladies find their place!
Advice to PNMS
Honestly, donât be afraid to ask questions. Make silly jokes or comments. When they say, âbe yourself,â they mean it. To find a place you truly belong means to reveal your natural and true beautiful wonderful self to all you encounter.
What are you most excited about for this yearâs recruitment?
Iâm excited to meet all the beautiful PNMs and make some friends (hopefully)!!
Favorite part of Drury Greek life
My favorite part of Drury Greek life is the people that come into Greek life. I think Drury, in general, brings in really special people, and Greek life is a way to connect and interact with a variety of those special people in fun ways like philanthropy events and social events!!
Tri Deltaâs Director of Recruitment Events!
Meet Sarah Brewer.
What is your role and what do you do for that role?Â
I am Tri Deltaâs Director of Recruitment Events. Itâs my job to plan and implement formal and informal recruitment efforts for the chapter. I get to choose themes and decor for all events and educate the chapter during work week on ways to recruit well and what to look for in a potential new member.
What has greek life given you?
Greek life has given me more confidence in my leadership abilities. I remember going through recruitment and talking with Tri Deltaâs Recruitment Chair thinking she was the epitome of a strong, smart, woman. I never imagined Iâd have the ability to take on a role like this, and I wouldnât be able to without the leadership experiences Iâve had and the motivating group of women Iâve come to love like family.
Why should girls go through recruitment?
Girls should go through recruitment because itâs an opportunity to find yourself. Coming to college is a big change, and itâs easy to get lost among all the craziness around you. Recruitment is the first step in potentially finding life-long friends who help, and hope to see you grow into a better version of yourself.
What advice would you give a PNM?Â
I would tell all PNMs to have confidence in yourself. Chapters arenât looking for a specific type of girl, so let your true self show! We love hearing about your interests, passions, and small details that make you who you are.
What are you looking forward to about recruitment?
Iâm looking forward to seeing all the plans come together and meeting all the women who will bring something new to Tri Delta and our Greek community! Iâm also really really really looking forward to work week (the week before freshman move in where the chapters prepare for recruitment) because I miss my sisters SO MUCH.Â
What is your favorite part about recruitment?
My favorite part of recruitment is the first round. No one really knows what to expect, especially PNMs; thereâs so much anticipation. When the door of your first chapter swings open, get ready for a whole lot of singing!
What is your favorite part about your chapter?
My favorite parts of Tri Delta are the traditions. Â Our chapter does things today that have been done since Tri Deltaâs founding in 1888, and itâs so special and moving to be a part of them. It helps us focus on understanding our past and making a difference in the present so we can have a strong future.
What to Expect: Greek Dinner
The Greek Dinner is the night before Freshman First Day. It is an opportunity to meet some amazing women of Greek Life and ask your questions.Â
According to our Panhellenic Vice President of Recruitment, Lindsey Hedrick, âThe Greek dinner is an opportunity for women interested in sorority life to speak with active and alumnae members from chapters and also listen to a couple of the Panhellenic officers about their experience. The major take away from this dinner is that women interested in sorority life are leaving informed and have a grasp on what Greek life is at Drury. After dinner, the recruitment team will take groups of women and their families into the suites for suite tours which is also another chance they can interact with active and alumnae members and ask questions/get to know them. This is a great experience and also a perk when going through recruitment because you will remember the women you sat with at the Greek dinner and spoke to during suite tours!â.Â
This is an amazing opportunity to have your parents ask their questions about Greek Life and figure out if going greek is right for you. Just because you go to Greek Dinner DOES NOT mean that you have to go through recruitment, so come and talk to us!Â
Hereâs some advice from some of the Panhellenic team you will meet there:
âTalk to anybody & everybody this is your fresh start & you never know when youâll meet your future best friend(s)â--Lauren Slamb
âThis experience is about you and where you feel comfortable.â--Sophia Thompson
âJust be yourself! Thatâs the only true way to find your people!â--Aubrey Nielsen
âWear comfy shoes, and be sure to talk to your core class. They will become your first friends in college.â--Mallory Pinson (President of Panhellenic)
âThe women who are here want to know you and its important to just talk with them! We have been where you are and we know a lot about Drury as a whole. Ask questions, because this about YOU as an incoming student at Drury.â--Anissa Wiant.
âAsk as many questions as you can and even if you arenât sure if you want to be in Greek Life, go to the tours & dinner! I never thought I would be where I am today if it wasnât for Freshman First Day suite tours.â--Madison Hadler
ALSO, donât forget to see us at Freshman First day during Suite Tours from 3-5! We are so excited to meet you!
Pi Phiâs VP of Membership!
Paige Wynacht
What is your role and what do you do for that role?
I am the Vice President of Membership for Pi Phi! The biggest thing I do under this position is serve as recruitment chair. I also do all the paperwork and such for girls transferring or becoming alums! Outside of Pi Phi I am a data entry clerk in the Admissions Office. I am also an elementary education major so I can always be found in Lay Hall doing something!
What has greek life given you?
Greek life has given me so much. I have gained more genuine friendships through Greek life than any other organization I've been involved in. The friendships that come with Greek life are more than just ordinary, theyâre lifelong.
Why should girls go through recruitment?
Even if youâre not interested in joining a sorority, everyone should go through recruitment. Recruitment is a great way to meet so many new people and make so many friends before the school year even begins.
What advice would you give a PNM?Â
I would tell a PNM to just be yourself! I know this can be an extremely nerve-wracking time but in the end you will find your home. Thereâs absolutely nothing to be nervous about!!
What are you looking forward to about recruitment?
I am looking forward to seeing all of the new faces and watching girls find their new homes. Recruitment is such an exciting time of the year for everyone! Iâm also looking forward to seeing my own chapter grow and gaining more amazing sisters.
What is your favorite part about recruitment?.
My favorite part about recruitment is the preparation that goes into it. Its so exciting to come up with a theme and decorations!
What is your favorite part about your chapter?Â
My favorite part about my chapter is our sisterhood. I may not be super close to every single one of them but I know at any time of the day I could call any of them and they would be right

Meet Zeta Tau Alphaâs Membership Chair!
Sophia Black
What is your role and what do you do for that role?
My role for ZTA is VP III/Membership Chair which means I am in charge of recruitment and membership. I work with all active members to ensure that their experience is nothing short of what they expect it to be and I also help the chapter prepare for recruitment which happens all year long.
What has Greek life given you?
Greek life has given me some of the best friends I've ever had as well as endless opportunities for growth and leadership. I get to learn how to be an active part of an organization that does amazing things for the community while building relationships that last a lifetime. I have learned how to lead my group of peers, and now I get to share my positive experiences with other women and help them find their home away from home at Drury. I get to be a role model for some of the younger members and help them make the most of their time at Drury and in Greek Life.
Why should girls go through recruitment?
Girls should go through recruitment because it gives them a chance to form their OWN opinions about Greek life. There are lots of stereotypes that surround individual chapters as well as Greek life as a whole. Often times, the negative things perceived about either chapters or Greek life prevent women from joining chapters. There is a place for everyone in Greek life at Drury University and I think it is important for each woman to use her own experiences to help her find her place.
What advice would you give a PNM?
I would tell PNMs to keep an open mind about recruitment and about each chapter. I didn't want to go through recruitment as a freshman, but my mom talked me into it. I wasn't excited on bid day and I considered dropping from my chapter several times in the first semester because I felt like I still hadn't found my place. When I got my first position as Director of Philanthropy in the spring, I felt much better. It took me a while to find my purpose and now that I have I couldn't be happier. Don't give up on Greek life before you've really given it a chance.
What are you looking forward to about recruitment?
I am really looking forward to my role in recruitment. I have gone through recruitment as a PNM and a recruiter (active member) and now I get the chance to help my sisters recruit more women. I am excited to be able to see recruitment through a new lens.
What is your favorite part about recruitment?
My favorite part about recruitment is all of the excitement that leads up to it. Work Week is the time for each chapter to grow and bond with one another. We get to work together to show PNMs how great our sisterhood is. Recruitment is exciting because we get to meet lots of women and help them find their home, either in ZTA or another chapter at Drury. Recruitment is about helping women find their place, not trying to convince them that their place is with us. Following recruitment is Bid Day which is so fun because we get to celebrate our new members and teach them more about our fantastic organization.
Fun fact: Sophie once saw Bob Barker at a grocery store while on vacation.
Meet Kappa Deltaâs VPM!

Council Position: VP- Membership
Major: Secondary Education and History
Grade: Senior
Fun Fact: Sheâs studying abroad in Rome this summer
As VP-M Massey focuses on recruitment and retention. These two aspects of sorority life are very different but very important. Recruitment is why a potential new member joins Greek Life and retention is why they stay. After primary recruitment, Kappa Delta focuses on hosting events throughout the school year so that girls can take a break from the stresses of school and strengthen our sisterhood. Some of these events are laid back movie nights, other times we do cookie decorating or have a date night at the arcade.
But Why Go Greek?
âGreek life has given me friendships that will last a lifetime,â said Kaitlyn Massey. âGreek life has given me so many opportunities that I never could have imagined prior to joining.â
Recruitment is an amazing way to meet new people.
âI met some of my closest friends through recruitment. Coming onto campus, Greek life is an awesome way to get involved right off the bat,â she said.
When going into recruitment, Masseyâs biggest advice to potential new members is to be themselves.
âDonât be who you think people want you to be. Go into recruitment with an open mind and trust the process,â she said.
Massey also said to not let stereotypes you may hear about chapters cloud your view.
âGo where you feel most comfortable and donât let the opinions of others keep you from joining the chapter you are meant to be,â said Massey.
Highlights of Recruitment
Recruitment is such an exciting time. Current members get to share why they love their chapters and potential new members get to find their homes.
âI am looking forward to meeting all of the PNMs, all of the new freshmen on campus, as well as any of the upperclassmen who make the decision to go through recruitment,â Massey said.
Massey said that her favorite part of recruitment is Bid Day.
âI love getting to welcome home new KDs at the end of the process,â she said.
Her favorite part about Kappa Delta is how close everyone is.
âThe amazingly tight bond that we all have. Our chapter is a group of women who understand me in a way few do and are always there to love and support me,â said Massey.
