I think Paige and Bryce have a 3-4 year age gap tops- she's in her late 20s and he's like 26 maybe? i'm not sure if it's ever been stated in-game but I like to think Bryce got kicked out 2 ish years ago and Paige has been desperately looking for him since.

him and paige have a very typical golden child-black sheep dynamic where paige doesn't see or understand the favouritism towards her until it was far too late. she has genuine affection for him, and he has a complicated mix of resentment and pity towards her...... as in, he's angry and jealous and he's spent years being berated about how he needs to be just like his sister and how brilliant of a bibliomancer she is and being constantly reminded how he'll forever exist in her shadow and nothing more.

(he also begrudgingly acknowledges that paige herself never intended to feed into that dynamic. their parents are to blame for that. paige was his number one defender- and that wasn't enough, it never was)
