Hereâs a great rule of thumb: until you create something yourself and then actually ship it, try to first find the positive in the products around you. Those products are the result of someoneâs passion, hard work and innate genius. When we compare them to our own twisted, entitlement-driven expectations, we do nothing but insult their creators.

FoldingText is a still in development but quite usable new, um, well, itâs complicated:Â
FoldingText is a plain text outliner. As you type, FoldingText auto-formats your document into headings, lists, and paragraphs. Fold your headings to see the big picture. Focus on a heading to view the details. FoldingText is simple, yet surprisingly adept.
Yes, but that is only part of the story because, well, it has to do lists and timers built in as well. Oh, it is also built with Markdown in mind (with auto-formating and syntax hiding).
Like I said, it seems kind of crazy until you start to use it for a bit. Then, it seems like magic.

Reminders meets Alfred [Update 2.1]
Assuming you are a PowerPack user, simply download the extension on this page and double click it. This will bring up Alfredâs preferences and automatically setup the extension. The syntax is described inside and at the moment let you specify one of your list of activities in which you want to add your tasks. You can add a due date and even a bunch of words as note, always via Alfred.
The main syntax for this extension is the following:
⢠add activityBody (notes within brackets) @ dueDate alertHour # listName
Here below you will find attached a few input examples, assuming âaddâ as the Alfred keyword to recall the script:
⢠add buy milk (chocolate one) @ 28/7/12 6:00pm # Todo
â˘Â add buy Alfred license (PowerPack) tomorrow 9:30 # Todo
⢠add buy MacBook Pro Retina (if I couldâŚ) # Me
⢠add remember to call mom today
As you can see you have always to insert the main body of tasks but you are free to add all others parameters or leave your todo simple. Notes and dueDate are optional as the ListName, which, in case it's missing, will be automatic replaced by your default list in Reminders (simply the first entry of your list). The alertHour will be setted only if there is a specified dueDate.
More info about the Reminders extension syntax can be found on the attached text file.
Update 1.1 [July 29th 2012] :Â this new release adds alerts only for those reminders with due date. Tasks with only body details will be added as simple todo.
Update 1.2 [July 30th 2012] : released an "european" version of Reminders ext; here you can add dueDate with DD/MM/YYYY format. It's the link in the middle with the big EU logo on it.
Update 1.3 [August 2nd 2012] :Â there is now only one release with automatic region formar detection for dueDate. I've also added alertHour parameter, which give you the possibility to add a specific time for alert in 12h (adding am/pm) or 24h format
Update 1.4 [August 3rd 2012] : added in alertHour parameter, two new keyword to quickly set the reminder for today or tomorrow
Update 1.4.1 [December 3rd 2012] : now you can insert the alertHour with both colon or dot separator (23:15 as 23.15)Â
Update 1.4.2 [January 16th 2013]:Â fixed a bug where ending a task with "today/tomorrow" keyword, bring them also in the body of your activity.
Update 2.0 [March 17th 2013]: finally it's here! the new Alfred 2.0 is publicly available...so here you can find the new workflow for this new BIG release. Enjoy it :)
Update 2.1 [March 23th 2013]: fixed a bug where an Alfred query as "add call mom tomorrow" will result with a popup error. You can now also add the date without typing the year (it'll use the current year)
Double-click in AutoCAD 2012 for Mac...a workaround
Are you an architect and youâre using the latest release of AutoCAD 2012 for Mac OS X Lion? If so, I suppose youâre quite disappointed you canât double click on your DWGs and let them open in AutoCAD automatically. Developers say thatâs a known bug and they donât have a valid workaround yet.
I realised this simple application which works as a middleware between your files and the main CAD app. You just have to download this lightweight app and put it anywhere you like (I suggest the main Autodesk path of your AutoCAD installation, in your Application folder).
Second and last step is to associate all your DWGs with the downloaded application[*].
Now you can double click on one or more files at the same time and open them all together in the main window of AutoCAD 2012.
[*] remember: itâs easy to set a default app for a specific type of file: Cmd+I on one of your DWG, in the âOpen withâ menu choose my app and press the âChange Allâ button.
