Total Eclipse of the Heart

Amber stood in line in the cafeteria, a banana and ham sandwich in hand before she stepped up to pay, making sure to grab the bag of taki's beside the register before paying and making her way toward one of the tables. "This seat taken?"

April looked up, salad and water on the table in front of her. Seeing Amber, she nodded with a small smile, offering her hand to show that the younger girl could take a seat. "Go for it," she smiled, taking a sip of her water.

After steadying himself back on his feet, Jackson wrapped an arm around his wife's shoulders. "I'm fine. A little embarrassed, but no worse for wear." Thankfully he hadn't actually fallen completely down; that might have given him a much worse injury than the one afflicted upon his pride. "I was just going back to get my keys because apparently I was in such a hurry to leave, I forgot them in my locker. Come with me to get them and we can head home together."

April nuzzled her face into his side, happy to see her husband after a day at work. She truly missed the days when they would work together more often. At his words, she leaned up and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek. "I'll go with you anywhere, J," she murmured, squeezing his side gently. And that was the honest to god truth. She loved him to death, and would always do anything she could for him. "I always go home with you... have for years," she grinned, walking with him toward the attending's lounge.

Mark glanced at the person sitting next to him and then glanced down the hallway at the group of interns that looked more lost than he thought should actually be possible. They'd been at the hospital for the last month and somehow still didn't know how to get from one section of the hospital to another, even with the signs and symbols meant to lead patients and families in the right direction. "Sometimes it's hard to understand and remember how hopeless interns are. And then the new group comes in and I'm reminded all over again."

"Mark, I love you to death, but didn't you think the same thing about my class?" April asked with a small laugh, shaking her head. "Plus, you came to love Jackson enough to call him your protégée and create the Plastics Posse," the redhead snickered, taking a seat beside the older male. In truth, it was endearing that Mark and Jackson were so close, and she'd never be one to argue about that. It was just fun to harass him.

Presley rubbed at her face in frustration, looking over all of the changes that that had been made to the script that they'd been working on for the past month. She didn't understand how it had taken this long for the director to decide that they weren't happy with everything, but it was more than a little frustrating. Hearing the sound of someone walking toward her, she looked up from the pieces of paper in her hands and forced a weak smile. "Any chance you might be willing to help a girl run some lines?"

April had been walking through the hallway of the hospital, on the way to the cafeteria to get some lunch. As soon as she saw Presley sitting there, though, a defeated look on her face, she stopped in her tracks. Slipping down beside her, April gently took the pages from the younger girl, offering her a reassuring smile. "I'd love nothing more than to help you go over these lines," she said sincerely, leaning over to press a gentle kiss to her cheek. "Where do you want to start?"

He was almost out of the hospital doors when Jackson realized he'd left his car keys back in his locker. He was pretty sure he'd forget his head if it wasn't attached to his shoulders. Letting out a soft sigh, not relishing having to walk all the way back to the locker room to grab his stuff when all he wanted to do was head home, he wasn't paying much attention as he made his way up the stairs when he missed one and nearly fell. Looking around, he spotted someone nearby and his cheeks started to turn pink. "Well, that could have ended a whole lot worse. Think we can keep this embarrassing moment to ourselves?"

April had just finished an emergency appendectomy, solely because they weren't able to find a general surgeon to complete it. All in all, it had been an easy day for the redhead, but at this point, she was ready to head home and be with her husband. Hearing commotion a few stairs above her, she rushed up them only to be greeted by her husband having nearly fell. "Now why would we do that, babe?" she snickered, taking a few steps toward him before wrapping two arms around his waist. "Are you okay?" April questioned, a bit more serious, concern lacing her voice.

Kenzie had gone for a walk and found herself in one of her favorite parks in the city, where she was currently sitting on a bench, scrolling through social media on her phone, lost in her thoughts. She'd been so sure that college wasn't for her, given how difficult high school had been, but seeing all her old friends talking about how much fun they were having in the dorms was making her a little envious. Shutting off her phone and putting it in her pocket a little more harshly than necessary, she looked around at the surroundings, noticing someone walking near her.

April was a bit taken aback by the harshness of Kenzie's voice, not having expected that to come from such a sweet, young girl. "Uhh, I was going for a walk and decided to rest my feet by taking a seat?" she muttered as more of a question, quirking her brows. "Are you okay? You seem a bit... I dunno, tense, upset?" she guessed, setting her water bottle down beside her on the bench.

"honestly, if i'm going to listen to people's problems all day long i should've become a thearpist. who knew being a bartender was like that but with worse pay and then having to clean up after drunk crying people." cami shook her head, as she wiped down the bar in front of her and smiled. "what can i get you?"

"on the bright side, it's much less schooling," april mused, placing her purse beside her on the barstool. leaning her elbows on the counter, she tilted her head to the side as she contemplated what to get to drink. "you pick, love. any mixed drink is fine with me," she said with a small smile.
