Google updates its search algorithm anywhere from 500-600 times a year. While these changes are designed to more effectively prioritize information on the web, they can be frustrating for businesses. How do you effectively market your website?

• Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – The goal of SEO is to generate organic traffic and leads by ranking your website and/or brand higher in top search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. SEO strategies can include numerous on and off page optimization, social media listings, and fresh content. We work with clients to develop a holistic SEO strategy that tracks key metrics and helps boost organic rankings.

• Pay-per-Click (PPC) – This marketing strategy allows you to place paid advertisements on search results pages, as well as on social media platforms. This increases traffic to your website and increases your potential conversion. Advertisements can be geo-targeted to your desired audience through keywords, common interests, remarketing, and ad placement.

• Landing Page Optimization (LPO) – A landing page is the page a user is brought to after clicking on a search engine result link or advertisement. By optimizing the layout of this first page, you can make it easy for visitors to navigate and convert according to your goals. This process will make the conversion process streamlined.

• High Quality Content – New algorithms are becoming more and more effective at eliminating “spam” posts. Instead of focusing on building links, it’s important that website and social media content is interesting, relatable and engaging.

This week our Employee Spotlight is on SEM Department Manager, Joanna Gelo.  When Joanna began her career at Driven Local, she was thrilled to become a part of a relatively new and rapidly growing marketing field.  She is always looking for new ways to excel in an ever changing and growing industry.

Search Engine Marketing is one of the best ways to advertise for businesses.  Joanna uses her extensive experience in the industry to not only impact the accounts that she actively manages, but to help the entire company’s client base.  When asked what she loves the most about her role as SEM Department Manager, Joanna says that “there are always new and unique situations that arise that I can apply different tactics and strategies to help solve and I am continuously learning.” Her engagement is just part of what make her a wonderful SEM Department Manager.
