The reason the prequels have a large and passionate fanbase is because they had a story they wanted to tell and themes they wanted to explore. The characters change, their actions have consequences, their relationships grow and become damaged. There is very little of that in sequels. The characters stay the same or they change abruptly before dying, there is no overarching story or themes and their actions don’t really matter

so i was spending my weekend as one does, watching youtube when the comments veered into the "bring addison back" and "they did only private practice to refocus the show on meredith and derek even though addison and mark were more interesting" but the truth is it actually wouldn't have mattered because kate walsh has chemistry with literally anyone she is opposite.

#favorite #honestly i dont care if there was some secret reason for doing private practice #the end result is always the same: addison is fabulous and derek is a dick #but this is why i dont have like a with addison #she is great with everyone for different reasons #except for the cop #but mark and addison were never endgame but it doesn't mean they aren't good together #it just means their characters are easy to write good strong relationship arcs for

i just think it's great that amelia is a democrat even though her brother is a republican

#it's basically canon #you want proof: he's pro death penalty #he's pro tough on crime #he's friends with cops #and he is definitely in it for the tax breaks #so he's not like vocally republican #but catch him maxing out to mitt romney in 2012 #dying was the best thing he could have done for meredith #because now she can run wild with m4a #derek is lawful evil i will say it #derek is the type of republican who understands things when they happen to people after a period of time #but he 1000% does not understand how problems can be systemic #in conclusion: derek is a dick amelia is great

the musical episode of greys anatomy has it all: ✅ vocals by tony award winner sara ramirez [among others] ✅ appearance by dr. addison forbes montgomery "she's the best there is" ✅ cristina saves the day ✅ mark and lexie "i don't hate you" ✅ iconic songs ✅ both mom and baby live ✅ doctors working on their family "move" ✅ callie and arizona get engaged

i love kate walsh [no shit] and just because i will not rewatch season 1 of 13 reasons why [or any of the rest of it] does not mean i won't watch her do press for it or that my heart won't light up every time she says "brian yorkey who won the pulitzer prize for next to normal"
