Sorry for lack of Broville shiz lately. I’ve been busy working on a stupid speech for a college class. So here are some pretty shots from were ever to make up for that. 

working in broville makes you look at some of your old work and sigh in frustration at how simplistic it is.

There’s a lot of work out there that just wont fly in a place like broville that would be ok in many other places, but.. when you get your eyes adjusted to the complexity.. going back to the butterface wool BS huts in my old adventure map is like taking a step back to alpha with neon green grass and no lighting. it just feels bad man.

As such.. I’m sort of “Staritng over” without “starting over” with the adventure map. And by that I mean I’m playing with some new ideas. Before I do too much however I want to put my head together with my “Team” (Dresden I think thats only you right? lol) and come up with a damn story. We had a rough idea before but nothing pegged down.. and frankly.. we were relying too much on relics of the minecraft past to develop the story.

What we need to do is develop our story, then build out the towns and things to suit it. That being said tho.. I’ve already made a new map I’m quite happy with. (you see it in this pic.. tho there’s nothing to look at here..)

The big thing that affects the map is the most notable one. We only have two people. You and me. We're both busy people and can't dedicate our lives 24/7 to the map and hope to have it be done before some patch comes that forces us back to a certain point. This isnt Broville or any other map that has people who get on at a constant rate and has an active population. We are once again two people. We need more people and then maybe we can get a map out in a reasonable amount of time.

Now the size of the current map is fine. We just need a story and some furnishings. I can finish my Island area and I can cut a few of the islands out and wait till the next installment for them if need be. The size is at least better than what it was when I first started helping almost 3 years ago. That was a massive map and if it was still around I would agree we should cut it down.

Finally the buildings and their designs shouldnt impact a map that much with the scale we have. ( ie only two of us and ever changing abilities with certain things) Besides the old Bs huts of wool can be passed off as days gone by. Quite Frankly when I joined you I couldn't build for shit. That was 3 years ago and today I'm comfortable with my abilities and occasionally Ill still throw together a horrid looking building for shits and giggles and it will look perfectly fine in its surroundings as if it was meant to be there. Broville can't be compared structurally to this map because we dont have modern city sprawls and modern suburbs. This is a bloody adventure map. Set in a bloody fantasy period with monsters and boss fights, etc, etc. The maps supposed to make you imagine your in Medival Europe or wherever. And if you think about it no one back then gave a damn about simple buildings and what they looked like. Squares were all the rage.

So yes. We can start anew if you want (I want the old map files) and we can do a smaller test run of a map. A prelude if you Will. (Msg me on Steam whenever you get around to Reading this)
