Union We Stand!

I have to submit a 150 word short story (exactly 150 words). Content doesn't matter. how is this?

“Twenty bucks says you don’t make it.”

“I bet ya don’t have twenty bucks.

“My brother does.”

“He isn’t gonna give it to you.”

“Twenty bucks says he will!”

The pair stood face to face, arms crossed and scowling.

Caleb pushed out his lower lip and jabbed a finger at the other boy. “You can’t make two bets!—Can he?” He turned to the crowd of spectators, waiting for affirmation before Erik cut him off.

“Well? Are you gonna do it or not?” he demanded of Caleb.

“I said I was!” Caleb’s scowl deepened and he pulled down his bright green shirt.

“Well, c’mon, then!”

Caleb looked from his opponent to the monkey bars, gulping loudly before approaching them. Had they gotten taller in the last ten minutes?

RIIIIING

Saved by the bell.

Davey could feel his heart beating a little faster in his chest, nothing necessarily uncommon around Jack, but the fact that the other was willing to let him into his private place, a place he knew not many people had been to, made it all the more important to him. “You make this city bearable,” He then replied before he could actually think about it.

“I mean…you. And the boys. Having FRIENDS makes it bearable.” he then added, glad that Jack couldn´t see just how much he was blushing right now.

Davey’s slip didn’t go unnoticed by Jack, but he said nothing. It made him feel good that Davey thought that highly of him, but he couldn’t help but feel it undeserved. Jack knew he wasn’t the most reliable of the fellas; he created more problems than he solved. Hearing Davey say otherwise was confusing, and Jack wasn’t sure how to respond.
