she shook her head at his question — nothing happened afterwards. that was part of the problem. she spent way too long looking for him, shifting from tipsy and confused to drunk and annoyed once she found out where he’d gone. then, she stayed for a little longer to hang out with her friends, and was in an uber home by one. she had no right to be mad at him for leaving to hang out with a girl, but there she was. she was grateful for isaac’s scattered brain, hopeful that he wouldn’t pick up on her unjust jealousy. with her hands on her hips and a frown pulling at her features, she waved a dismissive hand at him. “forget it. it’s stupid.” talk about hot and cold. pull it together, samantha. she turned back towards her living room, intent on finishing the breakfast she was eating before isaac showed up on her doorstep. desperate to fall back into their normal routine, sam got comfortable in her usual seat on the couch before handing half of her bagel out to the other. a peace offering. “i thought we made plans to hang out, that’s all.” sam shrugged, eyes lifting to isaac’s. “when i found out you left with someone, i…” she swallowed hard, teeth sinking into her bottom lip. “i don’t know, isaac. i spent half the night trying to find you, just to hear from vance — of all people — that you left with some random girl. i felt embarrassed about blowing up your phone with texts asking where you were when you were clearly…” released her lip, a sad smile etched across her face. “not as worried about our plans as i was. it's fine.”
