U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will be going to people’s home beginning Thursday, July 16 to collect three-year employment authorization cards issued on or after February 16 to DACA folks. This is beyond fucked and immigration should not be doing this! This will only add to the already existing fear of home raids. Remember that we have rights and that they cannot go into our homes without warrant or notice! If you received a letter/ 3 year employment authorization card return it in person to the local USCIS office.
BREAKING: The Department of Justice has asked the 5th Circuit to lift Judge Hanen’s stay on expanded DACA and DAPA.

USCIS has released a DACA toolkit! While this is a great primary resource for undocumented youth who want to learn more about the program, as well as community members who wish to help with the application, there is something unsettling about the smiling teen in the cover.
DACA is only a band-aid on a larger problem, one that House Republicans sought to take away from us last Friday.

How the White House plans to address the rise of unaccompanied children crossing the border
In lieu of Vice-President Joe Biden’s visit to Guatemala, the White House has released the following “fact-sheet” outlining its plan on how to deal with the surge of unaccompanied minors and single parents.
Interestingly, there are just two headers on the fact sheet, the second one being the most troubling one.

Hi I'm a high school student , I'm currently a senior and I want to apply for the dream act but I don't have the all the money. Where's a place I can go to that'll be cheap?
I would try E4FC, they typically have assistance or links to organizations that are helping out folks

Hi! So I was just looking at something's about the renewal and apparently there is some news about it but I don't know how its going to be done. Maybe you can look a bit into it?
absolutely NOT. you need an additional permission… it's a whole new application.
Hello. I need reassurance on something. My younger brother is graduating this month in San Diego. My mother is terrified of going, she is undocumented but has a legitimate driver's license from the state of California. Her fear is that she will be detained at the airport since SD is so close to the border. Does she have anything to worry about since she has a valid DL and that all you need to travel inside the US? Thanks.
I would suggest not to go… Unfortunately the drivers license isn't enough, if she is pulled over she will be asked what her social security and status is. They will call Homeland Security to verify her status, it's tricky and really hard right now. Congratulations on your brothers graduation and hope for the best for your family!
Also do you think they look closely at the names of the school? My transcript is kind of weird because I took some online classes. But my high school transcript has all the dates from 2011 to now. I also have all from middle and elementary school.
unfortunately they have been really picky about names matching up… so I would expect to have a delay on your application
Hey so I'm 17 and I'm going to try to get DACA. Can good grades help my chances of getting approved?
Nope. Grades are irrelevant, all that matters is that you graduate high school.
Today, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced the renewal process for hundreds of thousands of young noncitizens who received a grant of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

The Mayor of Atlanta, Kasim Reed, sent out this letter in support of in-state tuition for undocumented students. For those unaware, Georgia has a ban that prohibits undocumented students from accessing institutions of higher education.
Students protested the ban last month, urged state officials to lift the ban and allow undocumented students back into Georgia universities.
Historic victory!
Florida’s Republican Senate just passed a bill that allows undocumented immigrants to pay in-state tuition.
That means 17 year-old DREAMer Diego Ramirez (pictured, center) will be able to pursue his dream of studying civil engineering. And so many others like him.
