I'm an aspiring young lady villian. Do you have any tips for me?
Beware anyone who measures your worth by their accompaniment. You are your own lady villain. In one-sided situations, you are a weight anchoring them. Cut, they will sail and you will sink.
Sort through Halloween candy carefully.
Anyone discriminating against you because of your gender is an enemy, a dangerous one. Do not forget this. Especially when they themselves show weakness. For the record, this applies to all (and a lack) of genders.
āBut science saysā¦ā is usually used by non-scientists (and scientists blinded by bias ā a scientific crime) to justify their bias, self-worth, goals, and privileges.
Be kind to your young mind. There is much to learn and many mistakes will be made. The old make equal mistakes, but by virtue of time, can correct them faster because they have (or can access) far reaching resources to fix, fortify, and prevent.
Survive, fix, learn, fortify. Repeat. Experiment. Repeat this too.
Learn when anger and sadness are useful and when they are destructive. Act accordingly. Accept when you cannot, and continue trying.
Drink water often.
Learn to appreciate the majestic nature of a truly powerful adversary. It will help prevent hubris, and you might pick up a trick or two.
Ask questions. Not every answer is useful.
Question the media with every story.
When people say āfail often! You are young! Get out fail fail fail! You can do this!ā with enthusiasm, understand they are forgetting to mention āand learn, and fortify.ā Old people forget many things, not the least of which being how hard it can be to be young.
Some villains are loud, brash, and change the world in big ways. Some are meek, quiet, or otherwise unseen. Both are equal.
Build things.
Enjoy your life. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it.

D&D Undead and Negative Energy: Guuuhhh
To prevent the flood of mail Iām sure will arrive any year now, I would like to point out that, yes, I recognize that each D&D editionāsĀ writings (as well as Pathfinderās) are internally inconsistent. I will NOT try to claim that one interpretation fits the creatorsā intentions better than another.Ā
Hereās a big part of what inspired me to do this, that I think provides an articulate explanation of the issue:Ā http://community.wizards.com/forum/previous-editions-general/threads/1059011
What I AM trying to do is find an interpretation that breaks the least rules, is the most relatable by players, and makes the most sense.
If youāve read the thread, Iām expanding upon and arguing for theĀ āPlaying with Fireā option. I think it best reflects a more mature approach to the philosophy of morality and understanding human nature. And maybe neuroscience?

D&D Undead and Negative Energy: Evil?
Link to my intro post:Ā http://draxiss314.tumblr.com/post/112112255814/d-d-undead-and-necromancy
First, let me apologize to all my . . . fan, that Iāve not updated in a while. This is because Iām lazy.Ā
I can only do a thing for 1.5 months before I shut down. However, Iām now taking drugs! Hooray for brain chemistry alterations! So, maybe Iāll be able to be more consistent in my updates. Maybe. To be honest, I feel kinda important just acting like I have an update schedule.Ā
In this post, Iāll be making an argument for the undead beingĀ ājust misunderstood.ā No, really. I mean that on a more fundamental level than you think. I WONāT be arguing that creating undead isnāt inherently evil, because itās a dick move to turn someone into a critter thatās probably miserable.Ā
The arguments Iāve found for undead being inherently evil (or at least, never good) are that theyāre powered by Negative Energy, created through the defiling of corpses (or souls), actually evil spirits imitating the deceased, or have . . . unfortunate dietary requirements.Ā
- The Negative Energy argument goes that, since undead are animated by Negative Energy, and since Negative Energy is evil, undead are evil. In any edition (excluding fourth, but in addition toĀ Pathfinder), the canon view on Negative Energy is slightly inconsistent, depending on the author. Some say itās a corrupting force, some say itās just a tool. However, in ANY core book that catalogues the Negative Energy Plane*, the Negative Energy Plane has NO alignment descriptors. Even the Plane of Shadow, which has plenty of non-evil stuff associated with it, is slightly evil. This is the most conclusive evidence that Negative Energy isnāt evil.Ā
A special note for mindless undead: Iāve read on a Pathfinder devās post that skeletons and zombies are inherently evil because they actively hunt the living, and behave like virus-style zombies. Would you consider the virus-style zombies to be evil? Theyāre operating off of an instinctual to hunt and satiate hunger (in a possibly non-existent stomach). A golem whoās initial programming is to kill isnāt considered evil, even a flesh golem out of control. MOVING ON.
- Another argument is that being create through a ritual that defiles you in some way turns you to evil. Another word for that argument isĀ āvictim-blaming.ā Next!
- Since thereās some dubiousĀ evidence for this**, Iāll entertain the argument that the undead are actually not the original critters, but constructs of negative energy that have all the originalās memories. First, thereās no rules against a resurrected critter -who was formerly undead- retaining experience gained while undead. Second, undead critters CANāT be resurrected from say, a loose finger according to RAW until theyāve been put down, meaning the soul is already out there doing itās thing***. Third, thereās no rule stating that the actions a character takes as one of the undead are exempt from violating any oaths or taboos; atonement is still needed.Ā
EVEN IF all that means nought, why should these āevil spiritsā actually be evil? Besides the fact that thereās stuff stating that they might even believeĀ theyāre the originals****, being made from Negative Energy isnāt sufficient argument for them being evil.Ā
- Dietary Requirements. Diiiieeeettttaaarrrry requirementssss. Alrighty, then.Ā
Being compelled to consume something like life force, blood, corpses by an outside force doesnāt mean youāre automatically a bad person. Itās an outside force that makes life harder for you.Ā
Thereās solutions that donāt require an undead critter to kill people (or to kill people unjustly, anyways.) Finding volunteers, using animals, and feeding offĀ āacceptable targetsā are just the easiest solutions. You may note that these solutions seem to require the LIVING to not be dicks. Huh.Ā
Thatās all I have for now. Seeing how long itās gotten, I think I might split this up into multiple sections later on.Ā
*Mabar is the equivalent for Eberron, but Dragonlanceās Abyss is NOT, since itās also the lower planes combined
** Iām thinking of a section from Libris Mortis, the Book of Bad Latin, but I donāt remember where. If I care enough to find it, Iāll provide a reference.Ā
***except for mindless undead; Iāll probably get to that in a different post.
**** Libris MortisĀ again, I think? Pretty sure it was the same section. Maybe Iām thinking of something else entirely.Ā
