I thought I should finally make a introductory post on here so...

Hey y'all! I'm DrawingitWrong but you can call me Lachel Wrong, or just plain Wrong (lol). I'm a self taught hobbyist illustrator from 🇸🇬 that enjoys drawing fancy magical girl hair, painting decadent desserts and, fighting the urge to add cat/rabbit ears to every character I create. Besides drawing, I enjoy drinking tea, playing adventure games & RPGs and watching horror game walkthroughs.

Potluck Secret Satan 2026!

Hey hi hello! I finally got some art to share! :D

I saw a post on Bluesky advertising this art trade event so decided to join! Here is my piece for @cheshiresmiling 's girl Yana!

I'm not... too satisfied with the final results... While working on this piece, I was mainly experimenting around with my digital painting process and playing with my procreate brushes so bit of trial and error during this process but you live and you learn I guess!

I'm very used to sketching with CSP currently (due to this particular marker brush that I got from the CSP store. Its definitely my go-to sketching brush) so to start off, I jumped on that app and begin sketching some poses/ideas. In the end, I decided to use a photo reference from Grafit Studio as my main inspiration.

Then to tighten up the sketch, I used pencil/graphite brushes (mainly from Joe Lillington's brush sets. For smudging, I used the smudge brushes from this charcoal brush set I bought from the Proko site that one time) to finalise the drawing. I actually really like this and a little disappointed that I wasn't able to capture the softness of her smile in the final product... but ah well! I'm still learning!

I also roughly slapped on some colour to prepare for rendering (was playing with Max pack's watercolor brush set) and it turns out that I kinda liked this iteration as well (even though some of the colours isn't that accurate)

For the final rendering, I mainly used the pastel brushes from Max's packs retro brush set!

Hello! Its been a while, huh lol

Going to yap abit more than usual because I kind of want to be more active and intentional in my posting... I miss the days of blogging- especially reading about people's days + experiences. In this cold and cruel era of the internet (esp towards artists), I feel compelled to contribute something... more human I guess.

So anyway, the reason I've been gone: I was studying 3D modelling at a local school (3DSense Media School) for like 1.5 years. It was tough and I'm low key glad its over lol but I learnt alot and made some good friends so its a nice trade off I guess HAHA

Will post my 3D works soon but for now, here's a fanart lol

As noted in the title, this was for a small secret santa event. I couldn't resist the opportunity to draw princess bubblegum even though I only watched like... 1% of the show lmao. I think I only know the characters and abit of the lore through cultural diffusion if I'm honest XD

My idea for this piece was to paint her in the style of those Italian renaissance paintings... In the end I chose to reference Leonardo da Vinci's "Lady with an ermine".

Here's a version without the frame and besides "Lady with an ermine" for comparison!

I mainly used Maxpack's oil painting brush set which was a bit intimidating at first because I know nothing about oil painting (still don't tbh lol) but managed to make it work I guess!

For the frame, I used True grit texture supply's monomania brush to keep the lineart consistent.

And of course, you know me! I love to post my sketches so here they are! I especially like the sketches I did for the little PBs around the frame. Was definitely inspired by the fluid sketches of Rebecca Sugar and Natazilla!

The zine is out and we can finally post our pieces so here's mine for the Love Words Vocaloid Zine !

I was inspired by the song "BPM" and decided to draw the gang hanging out at an arcade with Miku Hatsune and the Kagamine twins dancing it out on the DDR machine!

I really liked how the linework turned out and that I managed to push the poses to be abit more dynamic. Felt something was missing in the initial rough sketch.

Recently participated in a summer themed OC gift exchange event and for my giftee, I drew their OC Holy enjoying her summer, chilling on a hammock with a triple scoop ice cream cone (mango + lychee + raspberry) in hand! OC belongs to @/weirdghostparty (Twitter)

ngl, I'm really happy with how the pose turned out! It was a little difficult given that they were hooves and not human feet after all lol

Thought I could do more attacks this year but my July turned out to be very busy 😵‍💫

Early July, I drew up a birthday card for Mrs Li, wife of Mr. Li (if you remember the other birthday card I did previously). I decided to take inspiration from chinese vintage posters and ink illustrations. Since Mrs Li likes red flowers, I drew as many as I could squeeze in the card lol

Did up a character sheet for my pokemon trainer OC Naran, a washed up childstar-turned-adult figuring out what's next in her life. Initially this was supposed to be for a pokemon OC group but I missed the deadline 😅 Decided to repurpose the sketches/half-finished drawings for this year's art fight event instead... Wanted to accompany this with an illustration but don't think I can finish by this month so this will just have to do for now lol

The leftover sales for the @witcher-fanzine I'm in have begun so I can finally show the piece I did for this zine! If you would like to get anything, please head to the shop here!! Leftover sales end August 16! Some ramblings about this piece because I worked VERY hard on it (lol): This illustration was based off a scene in one of the books where Geralt and his nakama gather and bond whilst preparing and cooking fish soup. I was always taken with that scene so I wanted to have a hand in drawing that scene out. I'm actually proud of this illustration! There were a few speed bumps along the way but managed to figure it out one way or another... which I guess is one main reason why I have such an affection for this piece even tho there are a few mistakes here and there like the perspective...

Surprisingly, I actually like how I rendered/painted this piece! However, I wouldn't do it again because it was so damn tedious... ( I was experimenting with a brush I haven't used before) I especially like how I painted the cauldron LOL

To simplify things, I based the characters off the Netflix series. For characters that haven't yet been revealed, like Regis and Milva, I referenced other Witcher medias like the game, trading card art, etc... I had the most liberty with Milva since I wanted to use her future actress representing her as reference. Hence the asian inspiration for her outfit. For Cahir, its a mix of the Netflix series and the trading card art. I think I wanted him to look slightly different from his Netflix counterpart because he is portrayed differently in the books.
