“Dump your metaphorical cup of ice coffee on me then. Go on, do it. Iced coffee is a way of life? Shit, by any chance do you have one of those cheesy ‘but first coffee’ shirts stashed away somewhere in your closet too? And who the fuck drinks cold iced coffee in the middle of the night?”

“If you keep being a smart ass, then maybe I will. Yes, it is. Once you start ordering it a couple of times, you have to committee. Hot coffee just isn’t the same. Unless you get a fresh pot from a good diner. Haha, very funny. I’m not that coffee obsessed to be honored with such a privilege. But everyone has their bad habits. Mine is that I drink ice coffee at night to help me draw. If I can get through two comic panels in one night, then I’m in good shape. All thanks to my favorite drink.”

“You could pair them with shorts to balance out the heat? Or only keep a few out and pack the rest away? It’s always so tricky with this time of year. I want to start living in sundresses, but then the temperature will drop dramatically and I’ll need two blankets.”

“You make a wonderful argument. On the one hand, I could just take my t-shirts out and put the heavy sweaters up but leave the cardigans out as a safety net. I’m so tired of not knowing what to do during the spring. It’s either start getting pumped for the spring/summer, or catch pneumonia. There is no winning until we officially get 70s all week.”

“Iced coffees? How much more basic bitch could you get?”

“First of all, the next time I hear you or any male utter the words “basic bitch” out of your mouth, the metaphorical ice coffee that will be in my hand will be dumped on your rude ass head. Second, iced coffee is a way of life. Don’t knock it until you try it. Besides, nothing beats staying up all night to meet a deadline in the dead of summer like cold caffeine.”

“Though I disagree personally, no worries! Do you have any pointers for me on what your mom likes? Maybe some Chicago?” Laurel asked with a soft laugh.

“Now we are talking!” she clapped. “That’s one of her favorite groups but doesn’t own their music on an album weirdly enough. She a fan of Aerosmith, Blondie, Chicago, Prince, and more recently has fallen in love with the Black Keys. Do you have any of that?”

Roman: I was just going to give it to you, but if you want to pay $100?

Roman: Your mom's really into music, huh?

Calli: I mean, you can still just give it to me. We can ignore my last message. It didn't exist.

Roman: I'm cleaning out my place and think I want to get a new record player.

Roman: You interested in my old one? If not I'll just sell it.

Calli: How much are we talking?

Ethan: Ryan Reynolds is in a video game? Huh huh huh?

Ethan: I know what Pokemon is! Not that young!

Calli: Movie based on a video game. I mean at this point it's pretty fitting I would say.

Mitch: Listen, I'm HYPE after that new trailer

Mitch: The music? Iconic. Did you SEE Cubone and Charizard? MEWTWO

Mitch: It's random as hell but I love it and demand to see it NOW

Calli: So it's settled then. We are GOING.

Ethan: Uh... I got no idea what it even is, sorry.

Calli: Pikachu as a detective + Ryan Reynolds + 3D animation

Esme: Why do they look scary? I don't understand it! Why are they trying to ruin my childhood?

Esme: What's MewToo look like? I haven't seen this version of him yet.

Calli: They are trying to be "hype" like Disney with being "realistic" but I don't think they realize that Mr. Mime will now haunt my dreams.

Ginny: I don't know if it would've been better or worse if they were just slick smooth. Maybe it's just the 3-D animation that's wigging me out

Ginny: Also why is he a detective? And having Ryan Reynolds voice him is confusing for me.

Calli: It's def the 3-D animation. There is no way around what we were given unless they pulled a Space Jam on us.

“Oh come on, I know I’m exhausted, but I can’t look that bad! A few more? I like to think I’ll have learned my lesson after this time. So what are your tips then? You seem to have mastered the art of all nighters.”

“I’m sure you’ve seen better days. First off you need to invest in some cream or facial mask for the puffiness under the eyes. That’s the dead giveaway. Next never drink coffee. Always go for water or gaterade to peak hydration. Then listen to podcast because it is more engaging than music. Lastly, power naps are your friends. Are you writing any of this down or are you a mental notes kind of guy?”

Esme: Mr. Mime is scary and I will fight anyone who tries to tell me otherwise!

Esme: Jk I could never fight anyone. I'd lose.

Calli: Hell 80% of these Pokemon look scary as hell. Mr. Mime is not suppose to scare me but I'm so ready to see this movie.
