Sunlight glittered upon her golden crests as she came to a stop before the cornered hyur, the ground shaking as her scaly bulk landed.

She was larger than most of the dragons he had likely faced previously-- well, aside from Vishap, but that one was a bit of an outlier. Crimson eyes scrutinized him, noting his change in stance and the way he handled his weapon in the face of a possible threat. Good, he seemed sound enough. Not that Zaltys was one to question the will of her Grandsire, of course, but it helped to see that behind the initial shock and fear was a keen mind. A worthy charge, if the stories rang true.

This was a fiery tone, but it carried with it a striking clarity of thought that clearly set her wide apart from the average aevis or heretic. No, this was a true dragon in her own right. She shook her great head and parted her jaws again.

ৡ"I hold no quarrel with thee nor thine, so thou need not fear violence this day... barring thou raise that spear to me."ৡ

She clarified, though her countenance was no less threatening for the fangs her open maw showed. A talkative dragon, perhaps peaceful, but one who would defend themselves if pushed.

The hyur wasn't even sure if it was a threat or not, hands fumbling about with his spear before he tentatively began to sprint away.

Never had he thought that he would be chased by a dragon this eagerly but there was a first time for everything- and he sure damn hoped it was the last time it'd ever happen. With what he had learned thanks to Ysayle, he knew far better than to swing his lance in these lands, which, honestly? He wanted to. He couldn't, but he wasn't like Estinien.

Hunting duty would be easy, right? Well, it was easy and he already had completed it, having sent his chocobo back to camp with the Loaghtan he had struck down. Now he simply needed to find the herbs Ysayle had talked about to him. Surely it wouldn't be too hard.

Well, he wasn't too familiar with the Dravanian Forelands, and it didn't help that Meteor had to stay on his toes in case Gnaths or Aevis wandered over thinking he was a snack. And to be fair, it was better that it was him that went out of his way to get things sorted seeing he was more than capable of handling any threats thrown his way. Poor Estinien, though.

No, not poor Estinien. Considering the amount of bickering already endured, it was more poor Alphinaud.

Having managed to find some of the sought after herbs, clawed fingers carefully plucked them before stuffing them into his bag. Meteor still felt that something was off. He couldn't tell what. Blue eyes took a moment to look around-- Nothing. Nothing in sight. He frowned. Then why..?

Draconic pupils widened and refocused focused as the hyur was set in their sights, and two pairs of mighty wings cleaved the air with natural ease as Zaltys rose from her rocky perch. The myriad scents of the Forelands filled her nostrils even at this height, and it was an easy feat to discern the telltale wisp of her quarry. A scent of aether and magic, snow and ice, dragon's blood and metal-- likely the armor he wore, she reasoned-- an accumulation of his journey, now painted with a splash of loaghtan about it, given the man's recent kill.

Needless to say, the previous weariness she had been feeling had all but flown away in the wake of rising excitement.

Finally she had caught up with this slippery mortal, the lofty task bidden by her grandsire *finally* at hand.

Her shapely form split the air high above the canopy like an azure whip as she listed into a dive, her wings rending the wind as her voice rang out in a roar.

basically, stop using the tumblr app if you ever want to edit your posts, ever! do you like to edit things? update them? want to correct facts you posted at a later time? want to correct a typo without deleting the post? does typing on a tiny screen hurt, so you would rather edit on desktop later? add tags? delete tags? all of these and more are now not possible on desktop if you make the initial post on the tumblr app for who knows why.

And it is very important that we do what we can to deny it.

Now that so many people have come out and spoken about the sorts of traumas that Oz inflicted on them, as you might know Oz deleted their FFXIV blogs and absconded off to Twitter.

To anyone familiar with how abusers operate, this is all extremely predictable. It’s why I’ve been keeping an eye on their Twitter in the first place. While Oz has deleted their Tumblr, this does not mean they’re gone, that they have any plans on leaving, and that they won’t try to come back and insinuate themselves just as they were before.

And in order to do this, the first order of business for Oz is to retake command over how they are talked about in the public sphere, to drive their victims back into silence whether through fear or otherwise, and to motivate others to distrust or disregard the people speaking out.

There are many tactics that abusers utilize to see this through, and in these tweets Oz has exhibited a number of them.

[As a sidenote, please excuse the pronoun use in this quote and in others I am using in this post. A lot of books on these topics refer to heterosexual romantic relationships and use these pronouns for the dynamic because that resembles what the authors saw the most often in their practices. Anyone can be an abuser however, and to anyone- in any type of personal relationship.]
