accounting is less numbers and moreso fudging them and bending the law to pay as little tax as possible without it being technically illegal. you tell them you make ten thousand and they figure out how to write half of it off as business expense and a quarter off the books. you can earn fifty thousand but with a good enough accountant all of a sudden you’re on thirty a year through a lot of legal shuffling. or at least that’s how all the accountants i know work
