In France, I like to think they *remember* what happens when they protest too hard. The French are exceptionally good at protesting, and we should maybe consider learning some things from them.
Chickira, the mascot for Chick-A-Boom in Thailand.
So like⌠is she tokyo cyberpunk or seattle cyberpunk?
Tokyo Cyberpunk: Emphasizes human relationship to technology, identity, psychological transhumanism, and the human-as-resource. In Tokyo Cyberpunk - Capitalism wants to own you.
Seattle Cyberpunk: Emphasizes class analysis through technology disparity, physical transhumanism, and the disposability of humans. In Seattle Cyberpunk - Capitalism wants you gone.
Aesthetically speakingâŚ
Tokyo Cyberpunk showcases nightlife where clean streets are illuminated by neon signs tempting you into consumerism as a therapy for your alienation. Itâs percieved cleanliness acts as a symbol where corporations justify their rulership through the illusion of social progress. The robot is friendly, companionable. Societal problems and capitalist contradiction are silenced and swept away without the common person knowing.
Seattle Cyberpunk showcases a nightlife of homelessness and decay with corporate monoliths on the horizon. The streetlights no longer work, but the darkness is kept partially at bay by the neon tubes of bars where people watch wishes of their youth vanish at the bottom of the bottle. The lucky ones working for the corporations do so with the fear they will be kicked to the street. The robot is an expression of force intended to keep the common person afraid. Corporations do not try to justify their rulership, social problems and contradiction are solved with force.
Tokyo cyberpunk and Seattle cyberpunk are the same setting from different class perspectives.

Anytime I hear the phrase âFor no reasonâ, I immediately think of this scene.
Do any of u have decent recipes that are like 5 ingredients (not including spices) and take 45 mins or less to prepare i gotta stop eating sandwiches for dinner
yeah hang on
ignore the title of this google doc because it's a long story but it's a really solid recipe for southwest chicken alfredo
this is a vegetarian potato curry recipe that's about 75% spices; once you get the potatoes in there you can really do whatever you want with it
this is literally just pasta, broccoli, and cheese babey and you can live off that shit for DAYS it makes such a big portion
bro this spinach/pesto/3 cheese flatbread is so fucking tasty bro
also you can make the flatbread yourself it's super quick!!
oh hey I'm eating this white chickpea chili right now, much like the curry it's mostly spices and you can do p much do whatever you want with it
don't let the name fool you these potatoes are delicious any time. not just breakfast.
this is slightly more than five ingredient when you add them together but if you have time and really wanna fuckin treat yourself I recommend these chicken strips + this cornbread + either these potatoes or these buttered veggies on the side.
i could do a minecraft charity stream and if i get even one donation, i'd be doing better than dream
what if... what if i call it a minecraft speedrun, but i very deliberately try and get the absolute slowest time on the leaderboards, and by virtue of raising any money at all, i earn it the right to call it "A Minecraft speedrun where I do better than Dream"
100+ hours of being better than Dream
Hey. You know what?? Let's do this! In one week's time on July 21st, let's do a 100+ hour Minecraft charity marathon to raise money for the Trevor Project! If Dream doesn't wanna raise money for lgbt+ youths in crisis, then I'll step up and do it.
I've never beaten minecraft, I've never run a stream that lasted longer than 6 hours, and I certainly have never done a charity stream but by golly, let's do it. Let's set a record, and raise some money for good!
It's gonna happen on my Twitch channel, on July 21st, at, let's say 3:00 EST, and it'll be going on for the next four days until 7:00 on the 25th. So spread the word!

Preserving games is SUPER important and no one in the industry seems to care about it whatsoever.
Emulation is important to games being preserved over time, because games, especially CD-based ones are so easily damaged irreparably. But the content is ultimately more important than the delivery method, and emulation is the only reliable way to make sure that said content doesnât vanish from history.
Weâve completely lost an estimated 90% to 95% of films from the silent era. Roughly half of all films are already permanently lost. If the industry is not careful, weâll lose the history of the early eras of gaming the same way we lost the early eras of film. Future generations will wonder why we didnât bother to preserve such a crucial part of art history.
G1 Transformers becomes a lot more unsettling to watch when you take into consideration that all the animation errors are canon.
What do you MEAN theyâre canon?
You know Unicron? That old son of a gun turned out to be a multiuniversal singularity. Meaning: in all the Transformers universes there was only the one Unicron. The one from armada, the one from G1, the one from Prime. Every single one of them, the same guy existing at the same time in multiple continuities. Same thing for the 13 and Primus.
But then, in Energon, Unicron fucking died. Like, he ended up dead, that shit had never happened before. And Unicron passed from being alive and existing in all universes in tandem, to be dead in one of them. The fabric of reality couldnât take it and started to collapse on itself (the setting in Cybertron) which manifests as all the errors that occur in all the continuities.
If I remember correctly, itâs called The Unicron Singularity
All the animation errors, all the continuity inconsistencies
Starscream had Thundercrackerâs paintjob for a few frames? Unicron Singularity
A dead character appears on a crowd shot? Unicron Singularity
I love how sometimes this fandom is like âwe can explain this stupid bullshit with High Concept Sci-Fi, nothing wrong to see here, ladsâ

hey so before elon musk "hosts" snl, i'd like to share something with you
back in the late 2000's, before musk was a household name, i made most of my spending money by doing tasks on Amazon's Mechanical Turk (MTurk). If you're not familiar with MTurk, it's basically a site that uses human labor for digital tasks and pays pennies per task. (You know, like a sweatshop.)
i'm thinking there was a bit less oversight in those days, because some of the tasks were shady af. And one task that I got *constantly* was reporting search rankings for the phrase "elon musk". So the way these tasks work is, they give you a phrase to google and a website, and you're meant to report what page it's on in the search results. You're also meant to "prove" it's the right result by pasting a bit of text on the website - meaning you had to visit the website. The number of HITs (tasks) for this project was in the 10-thousands.
i'm sure by now you've guessed that their desired outcome wasn't gathering search rankings at all, but rather it was to artificially inflate their clicks to improve search engine visibility. and technically, this would classify as a "link scheme," a black hat SEO tactic that violates Google's guidelines.
so tl;dr Elon Musk has a long history of paying people to like him.

Nature in Florida is so weird??
I was out hiking where the trail ran alongside this river that was moving pretty fast, but a couple miles in it just disappeared.
The river was gone. It just stopped, like someone had snipped it in half and taken away the rest.
So I stopped and stared at it a while, trying to figure out what the heck was going on, because the water was flowing very rapidly, but the river had abruptly ended.
Finally, this old man in a pair of worn overalls stopped next to me to watch as well, before leaning over and asking
âFirst time seeinâ it?â
I responded âyesâ, and he continued:
âIt goes underground here, pops back up some three miles west. Not the best swimminâ spot, for obvious reasons, though that donât stop people from tryinâ.â
So I asked him what he meant and he said,
âLots of dumb folk with no regard for Godâs nature die out here every year. Scientists, usually.â
We talked a little more and eventually went our separate ways, but when I got home I decided to look in to what happens to the river when it plunges underground like that.
It turns out it submerges and travels through a complex cave system for a few miles, and millions of gallons of pressurized water travels through there each day.
It gets cooler though!
Apparently, when water levels were low enough during a drought, researchers were able to send divers and probes through the cave system and found both animal and human remains, some of which included mastodons, dire wolves, saber-toothed cats and more. The human remains date back to about 7500 BC.
Anyway, Florida is weird and we have deadly underground rivers filled with cool prehistoric animals I guess.
#WHY IS FLORIDA LIKE THIS#ANNIHILATION MAN WASNT KIDDING WHEN HE SAID FLORIDA WAS FUCKED AND FULL OF FUNGUS
Every time this post hits my dash thereâs more salty landlords in the comments, die mad leeches lol
