obsession was soooo good, scared the shit out of me through great tension, cinematography and performances but god the horror of what’s happening to nikki and bear’s entire character is so effective and made me feel like i was going to cry multiple times especially for one scene in particular
nikki briefly regaining control and asking bear to kill her- asking someone who she cared about and thought of as a little brother, who has deprived her of and been taking advantage of her personhood and body- to put her out of her misery as she suffers from the frightening and increasingly violent entity that has completely usurped her autonomy due to his initial and continued selfishness. and all he interprets from this desperate plea is that it must be because she is unhappy in a relationship with him. asking why it’s “too hard” for her to just be with him. with the entitlement he feels over her, he can’t comprehend or simply does not care about her suffering opposed to his own frustration to the idea of her refusing him. it was absolutely revolting to watch
