hey boss what do you think is the foundation of the medical field? the same concepts present there are implicit in a game that revolves around it and aims to represent it. creative works are ultimately a reaction to or commentary on reality because of the people that create them. even if this wasn't true it's still a good exercise in thought to consider the possibility and debunk it

First Switch AU drawing woohoo!

The Switch!Rhythm Doctor AU is my interpretation of a swap AU, with most of the characters rotated/switched around but still somewhat retaining (or amplifying) their goals/personality from the original game 👀 Ada is swapped with Edega!

Being around her 40s, Dr Paige is the chief medical officer in MSH and tasked with overseeing patient care and the medical staff in the hospital. Pressured by Richard and the hospital directors for more shifts and threatened with staff layoffs, she, alongside the help of Edega and Booker, pick up the old rhythm treatment research that she alongside another doctor, Ian, had worked on when they were still interns in the hopes of treating arrhythmia symptoms faster.

Dr Paige is a generally cheery person, oftentimes putting her all into her job and plays the part of what a good leader should be. Patients love her and the hospital staff had a mostly positive time working under her. Though, she has trouble when it comes with pushing back against demands made by her higher ups, causing her to overwork herself and putting a strain in her health. No matter what happens, she's the the type of person to say "Everything is fine. I can handle it" (Isn't fine. can't handle it)

Best quality about ian is that hes a fucking loser. Yeah he made this incredible piece of revolutionary medical technology that can save people from heart attacks and calm arrhythmia symptoms, crunch a weekend deadline to make fully functional remote-controlled security robots, crunch a harder deadline to turn a heart defibrillator into a machine that can rebuild damaged cells from scratch, be so good at predicting irregular heartbeats that he can do basically any treatment on his own, and best of all he fucking survived med school and got a radiology degree out of it. But hes a fucking lame ass loser who plays MMOs on the clock, pouts when he loses, draws his ocs in his work notes, and is such a shut-in he doesnt even know places to hang out/have fun in his own city. All he did was refresh forum chats and get into reddit fights as a kid. Loser since the beginning and he always will be

[SPOILERS FOR RHYTHM DOCTOR ACT 6] Concept art sketches from Rhythm Doctor.

When we decided that Act 6 would feature a level about Logan and Hailey, we started brainstorming different ways those scenes could go.

Here was a comic I threw together to convey some ideas in my head. The text wasn't meant to be literal dialogue or lyrics suggestions, but just stuff I was jotting down to try to convey the emotion I had in my head.

I felt a little bit embarrassed making this but I realized that sometimes the emotion of something is difficult to convey via text explanation, so making a poem-ish comic like this made more sense to me.

As you can see, we ended up including the "shouting at the same time" and "go on, you get a do-over" parts into the final game. There's another comic like this, which I put in a separate post.
