There are certain places that remind you of hurt , certain names that taste bitter , certain faces that are still hard to look at , certain memories that are too heavy to visit , even 5 years later , 10 years , 15 years . They all remind you of hurt because something inside you “still hurts”.

I wonder if things can happen too early or too late or if everything happens at exactly the right time. If so, how sad and beautiful.

Your heartbreak is not the most important event in the world. Still there are people getting up to start their days, driving to work, making dinner. You think your pain is so loud that it could stop traffic. But know that there is a healing in your insignificance. Your missing them will not stop the highway buzz outside the window. And so? Isn’t there satisfaction in knowing they are not the world? You look for their face everywhere, but no one else sees it.

Sometimes I wish I was 29 with my life figured out & sometimes I wish I was 5 with my whole life ahead of me and not a care in the world

Thank you for loving me when I still tasted of heartache and war.

Talking to you didn’t feel like talking. It felt like remembering how to breathe after holding my breath for 2 years.
