Intro/headcanons
Debby had a very normal life growing up. Her parents werenât rich, but werenât poor, either. Her mom was the head cheerleader and prom queen in high school, and her dad was the high school quarterback. High school sweethearts and still together to this day, Debby was their only child and they love her to death. But, Debby is much different than them, and can be hard to understand at times. Debbyâs mom often tries to compare herself to her, which makes it harder for Debby to accept herself sometimes. Her dad likes to think logically and finds emotions to be unimportant most of the time, so relating to him is also difficult. Meeting her forever friends in high school changed her life, as she finally found people who accepted her for her sadness. Therapy helps her, but overall she has learned to embrace her sadness at times, and to remember at other times itâs okay to feel other things, too.
Debby loves sad music and sad movies. These are the kinds of things that get her more talkative in conversations. She also loves to draw and doodle in her free time, but is rather shy about sharing her creations to others.
Debby went to college to be an elementary teacher and currently teaches third grade. The happiness and innocence of children warms her heart, and she wants to help the few kids like her that may be sad and misunderstood, like she was and still is. Her favorite subject is language arts because of the deeper meaning behind books and poems.
Debby has always been pretty smart, but her grades did fluctuate throughout her life because of her struggle with her mental health. Sometimes, she could be a straight A student, but other times she could be failing several classes and missing school for days at a time.
She loves her friends because they balance her out so well. Sometimes, she struggles to express her other emotions, but her friends are there to help her learn to do so.
She will sometimes cry at things that may not even seem sad.
She loves to know how people are feeling and validate peopleâs feelings.
Has a fat cat named Dolores that sheâs had since she graduated high school. Dolores is basically her child.
She likes to drink wine and she experimented with drugs in college, but doesnât really do any drugs now.Â
