was so excited watching e3 when we got the scene my profile picture is from i remember watching the nycc trailer and being so stoked there was gonna be a second vampire piss scene with daniel it was like a dream come true

it all just hit me today. devil minion on my screen

armand only knows how to atone for his actions and assuage the guilt he carries through misery and self-flagellation, so of course his only way of making amends is to put the implement in the other person’s hands and give himself up to be castigated. he probably knew lestat and daniel would berate and humiliate him. in his mind it’s what he deserves. it’s how he gets clean.

lestat has made so many digs at daniel about his vampirism and his turning but i love that it’s the dig at his journalism that sticks with him. lestat suggests armand wanted daniel to bring it all down and that daniel doesn’t deserve the credit for uncovering armand’s lies and it pisses daniel off so bad he immediately gets mean and then later chases armand out of the concert to confront him about it. but then he got distracted by the rapture and had to address that first. he’s so compelling to me.

also that lesmand shower scene was so charged i can’t even speak on it right now but like wow

hm there’s something in armand’s expression when lestat says he wrote a song for him that makes me kinda sad. it made me think of “no one’s painted me in over 400 years” and also of that scene where louis pretends to take a picture of armand and armand is all touched bc he doesn’t know he’s rlly just trying to capture dream lestat. armand wants so badly to be a muse again, i feel like lestat saying he wrote him a song made him ache. especially when that’s the song… awful day to be armand.

armand is so desperate for direction and structure like he only went to AA to stalk lestat’s bandmate but by the end of the hour he was ready to work the steps lmao. i can see why AA literature would resonate with him, turning your will and your life over to a higher power and all that is right up his alley. imo his amends to lestat/daniel are probably just a mimesis of what he’s observed like i doubt he’s done much in the way of genuine self reflection, the literature says make amends so he’s making them but it’s still so earnest.
