why is it uh cold as fuck today

what i’ve learned in the past couple episodes makes me wonder if louis and armand even discussed the idea of louis turning daniel before louis offers in season one. i’m starting to think there’s a chance they never did. trapped in their two person domestic death spiral and knowing what daniel means to armand, maybe louis thought making daniel a vampire could be his out. he wouldn’t guess armand might do it himself, not at that point. i could see him thinking that if armand could actually have daniel then maybe they could both be free. but he knows how armand is about making vampires, and that he would be unlikely to sign off on it, so why would he bother bringing it up? and this would also explain why ‘rashid’ looked so taken aback in that scene, and why he needed to excuse himself.

i think that if daniel rlly wants those cool vampire powers he keeps talking about he should go suck armand’s blood and get himself a boost.

i must say i think a lot of people who are extremely disappointed with dm this season feel the way they do because they ordered some shit that was never on the menu. i think one of the best skills to cultivate in fandom is the ability to manage your expectations. it protects you. it’s completely okay to want things but if you’re gonna expect them when they were never promised and get upset when they aren’t delivered that is completely on you. and ofc i’m not referring to genuine critiques bc i have some as well (things feel expository so far, there’s an awkwardness, things are moving a bit fast for me), but i’ve seen so many people saying they’re completely lost as to the direction devil’s minion is going in which i find disconcerting. i’ve watched countless interviews and promos and trailers ahead of this season and have spent an embarrassing amount of time combing through all their interactions in s1 and 2 (as i’m sure many of us have) and i personally feel like there was plenty of precedent for this version of devil’s minion. but like, i do get why it would be confusing, if you’re someone who is extremely invested in the fanon and have closed yourself off from considering that the show might go another way. for months i’ve been anxiously watching people with their blinders on take the fanon and run with it, and i was really worried that those people would feel let down if their specific vision wasn’t realized. and it bums me out to think i may have been right to worry because i genuinely just wanted everyone to have as much fun with it as i am now. but here we are.
