helios is a fucking mess. it usually is when @hyperium gets in one of his moods: everyone all downtrodden && fearful, rushing around like a second late might be a death sentence. to be fair, it just might —— who knows quite how many poor souls get regularly thrown out the airlock for the most minor infractions known to man. it used to terrify him. it doesn't anymore. ( maybe that says something about who he is now. ) timothy makes his way up to the boss's office, scanners automatically letting him pass - one of the few good things about having the man's dna is never waiting in line - && makes it a point to ignore how grim the guards look the entire way up. jesus, is this a fucking funeral procession? don't answer that. jack's office is as cold && empty as it always is, grand in the way a museum might be —— artifacts meant to impress but stripped away enough from their native context that it's more like looking at a corpse than a trophy. a glance through is meant to convey power && presence, but a closer look invites that sort of feeling that this is all just the story of petty revenge. timothy doesn't look. he's seen enough / been involved in most of it. knows the tales already. 〝 you called? 〞 his voice echoes of the wide walls && tall ceiling, a mimicry of a tone that isn't his, 〝 what's so important you couldn't send it through echo? 〞
