something i find fascinating about works that are clearly inspired by homestuck is the way they relate to homestuck's whole deal. like. homestuck is very averse to actually creating something new, instead choosing to repurpose pieces from the old to make that new thing, and you kind of see this in deltarune in like, flowery being this re-envisioning of flowey, in the way the sanctuaries are exaggerated and broken upon repetition, in the reuse of undertale characters to begin with, but deltarune is also very much throwing new things at you all the time - that's the main momentum of aqua, acknowledging that tendency pretty directly, but that's also kind of the momentum of noelle on side b stuff, like. deltarune is always doing insane and new shit.
