i liked hetalia when i was around 11-12 and had NO idea what any of that shit actually meant. i had no idea what the Axis was, nor was i aware of the blatant racism and antisemitism. why? bc i was too dumb to understand what it was. now that i know better, i’m honestly disgusted w people who either a) know this and deny it or b) know this and continue to watch it anyways. 

if u continue to ignore people who tell u that hetalia is garbage, ur supporting racist and antisemitic ideas. if u BLATANTLY tell poc and jewish people that they’re wrong or overreacting and it’s “just an anime uwu”, shut the hell up. anyone with half a brain and enough knowledge of world history should be able to figure out that hetalia is absolute shit. 

again, i saw the appeal. but it’s honestly a facade. himaruya puts a cute, colorful and lovable face on white supremacy and nationalism and racism. some of the people who enjoy it are KIDS who don’t know, like i was. instead of “cancelling” 12 and 13 year olds who haven’t yet taken world history, we should educate them on why this is bad. 

however, if someone older or a grown ass adult is still trying to defend this horrific media, shut them down.

“Well I’d say we are pretty close, sometimes he gets a little too close. But that’s alright, I don’t mind too much these days. Sometimes he can cause me headaches but he means well, I know so. He always does his best in taking care of me.”

30 Days Of Tomato Lovers!

What is this fine event? It’s a whole 30 days of your boys Romano and Spain! But it isn’t only for our Spamano fans in the fandom! We’re having it split! Now listen closely…

There will be one week of Spain (and ships), one week of Romano (and ships), and the last two remains weeks will be Spamano! (It doesn’t have to be just be romantic, it can be platonic, or just Spain and Romano) You have a lot to choose from and you don’t have to be obliged to do all 30 days! Switch it up!

The event will start on December 2nd and continue until December 30th! You can create any form of art (drawings, painting, writing, cosplay etc) for each daily prompt and tag it with #30daysoftomatolovers to notify us and have us reblog your art on @spainromanoevents !

This is a fun way for any lover of Spain, Romano or any ships involving them to collaborate and make wonderful art of any form! Everyone will be able to see everyone else’s creations, and if you miss a day or two don’t worry, just skip or mash them up!

The last days of December are free days for Spain, Romano, Spamano, or other Spain/Romano ships! (Including nyo’s and 2p’s)
