Just once I would like to see an add for pads and tampons showing a woman like me

(and I can’t be the only one like this come on)

Not wanting to party all night on my period

Not wanting to try treeclimbing on my period

Not wanting to swim to a yacht or other fucking stupid activity on my period

Just once, I want to see a woman, wearing yoga pants or other comfy clothes, going to sit on her couch with a bag of M&Ms or other chocolatey confections, rolling into a ball and turning on the TV while moaning in pain

And the slogan will be “Just think about getting comfortable through your period, we’re making sure of the rest”

And that’s 

IT

The more ads we see telling women that their periods shouldn’t stop them from doing anything, the more society invalidates the very idea that periods can be debilitating, and that it IS an effort, for some uterus-owning people, to just get out of bed during them

It is an effort

It is painful

Just let us get through those painful days without bleeding all over our places of living, and that will be enough

Stop trying to sell the idea that the only issue with periods is the bleeding problem

Because the bleeding?
