You must excuse me, but what black male artists are you all talking about? I went to art school and there were more abstracts come from the black men. When they did draw black women, it wasn't degrading or hypersexual at all. I saw more hypersexual pieces coming from white people containing black women/black men.

To clarify, we're not necessarily talking about artists who just happen to be both black and male, we're talking about black men who draw misogynoir art. there's different types of black male artist but the one that's being talked about specifically is misogynoir art often labeled as "hotep art". Basically were black male artists draw black women in the very hyper-sexualized stereotypical and often disrespectful way. A lot of these art pieces happen to be "Pro black" but are voluntarily misogynistic towards black women and only represent black men better.

If you want more of an understanding of it here are examples of this:

Most of these art includes misogynoir exaggerations of black woman's body and are often depicting us as sexual objects. Black women are almost always drawn naked while the black men are drawn in normal clothing. In some cases these art pieces resemble Minstrel art.

Considering the fact that you mentioned your black male counterparts in art school. You're most likely not going to find this type of art in a professional art school
