Jon’s semi-moved out space has been one of my favourite places to visit and stay at. I know he is a man of great personal taste and I didn’t think it would be anything less. Although I wonder what it would had loooked like with his other things in here. But the little bits that remain tells me hints about the story of who he is. I haven’t known him in person for long but online we’ve known each other for a while. I think placement is a big tell of someone’s perspective. Where a mirror is placed, how books are stacked.. lamps, hooks. He had a black hand towel in the bathroom with a skull embroidered on it. These are things I love about people’s spaces whether it’s their homes or studios. How things are used. A stool repurposed as a side table, a bottle cage for a bike repurposed as a coat hook. These little moments, stacked together in my brain, being in the space. That stuff gives me pure excitement. It seems funny to want to travel just to stay indoors but I dunno I love that.
