so

1) Coming out in Northern Ireland is not the most understanding place to do - seeing as it’s the only place in the UK that gay marriage is illegal and religion dominated everything back in the day. I am so lucky and blessed to have parents who accepted me at 13 years old but I knew to shut my mouth until I was 18 as no one would understand nor do they still - hence I moved abroad.

2) The contrast between the happy dancing and the news report about the bomb - it is so fucking real that if you’re an outsider looking in you will never ever understand it. Hearing of bombs or shootings never ever made me shudder because it was normal it was what we grew up with and we just got on with it and had our giggles with our friends. If people ever ask you what’s it like to live in Northern Ireland? Show them the last 3 minutes of Derry Girls and tell them “like this”.

3) We, As Northern Irish people all have someone in our lives who is completely relatable to that TV show - whether you had a friend like Michelle or a grandad like Joe, everything in that TV show is completely and utterly ingrained in our DNA that we just fucking get it. Or the short storylines about getting out of town on the 12th of July or the wooden spoon - we lived by it.

4) A complete and utter tribute to the cranberries and Dolores was beautiful ❤️ couldn’t have picked a better song to end the show.
