alright deltarune opinion that’s not *just* bitching I need to get off my chest is that constant romancebait is overwhelmingly annoying and the only one that works for me is kriselle because (despite weird route having it’s own issues) the romance angle utilizes toby fox’ forte - intriguing meta concepts - and adds compelling forced gender roles-heteronormativity elements to the whole loss of autonomy thing, SA invoking imagery also highlighting the violations we’re putting kris through yknow good stuff. the rest of Romance we’re getting and boy do we get a lot of it utilizes toby fox’ teen drama writing skill which is ass. if I wanted some generic high school troubles deep dive I have vast ocean of media to choose from that did it better. i believe this focus on run-of-the-mill teenage crushes and home lives takes away from the more potent lore and meta aspects and clashes with the general absurdity of secondary cast kinda betwixt and between. and I really really didn’t need that ralsei hot tub scene
