       *! dominic LOVED traveling. his bucket list primarily consisted of a list of places he wanted to venture to and more often than not, they had some sort of educational value. he practically squealed when he heard they were going to the mediterranean - a place rich in art, history and beauty. he had been having the time of his life and he swore the smile on his face hadn’t left in days. “ rory !” he exclaims, tapping her on the arm lightly. “look at this SHIRT i bought.” he pulls it from his reusable bag, holding it up to his chest. “do you want one? we can match.” he’s only joking but if she obliged, he would buy one without hesitation. rory was nice enough to tag along with him today and surely, he would repay her somehow. exploring ancient cities would have been rather boring alone, no? / @aurorxbanks​

      *! “long story short, i saw a tiktok of a dentist doing magic tricks for his scared, young patients so i was like ‘right, let’s give this a go’, y’know? well, now i’ve got two full decks of cards scattered in my apartment because i can’t even shuffle them properly.” what originally sounded like an easy task proved to be much harder than anticipated. of course, he wouldn’t give up just yet but he was tired of picking up cards and needed a break. now he was sitting by the hotel pool, wearing obnoxiously neon swim shorts and drinking a summery drink from the bar. he laughs again, shaking his head. “now i have no magic tricks and i’ll probably have to deal with a very confused nic when i get back upstairs.” part of him felt bad that nic would potentially walk into a messy apartment. moving forward, practicing magic tricks in his room sounded like a better plan. “it quite literally looks like someone just tossed a deck of cards in the air. awful but hilarious.” / @marlsbuck​

      *! dominic clenches the bag of jolly ranchers in his hand. he’s grinning ( what else is new ? ) and he places the other hand over his chest. “marls....” he drifts off, shaking his head in disbelief. “the patron saint of the malnati. what did i do to deserve you?” he carefully opens the package, reaching in to find a green one. he pops it in his mouth, sucking on it for a few seconds before offering the bag to her. “d’ya want one? the green ones are my favorite. superior if you ask me.”

       *! dominic had been staring at himself in the lobby mirror for a solid five minutes. he was hardly ever insecure about the way he dressed and he was almost always overdressed. he had just finished getting ready for work and was wearing a patterned button up with his lab coat. in one hand, he held a regular tie and in the other, it was a bow tie. both were plain to offset his patterened shirt but for some reason, he just couldn’t get it right. dominic spots aurora in the lobby, hustling up to her. “hey, quick question. bow tie, regular tie or no tie?” he holds them up for her to view. / @aurorxbanks​

     *! dominic loved his job. discovering his love of pediatric medicine was the best thing that happened to him career-wise but some days were harder than others. concerned parents tended to be easy to piss off. seeing ( or LOSING ) incredibly sick patients eventually took its toll. he had spent the ride home in his own thoughts and surely, his facial expression was a solemn one. he’s collecting his mail at the hotel, flipping through everything when he spots dawn. “hey.” it’s not his usual greeting - anyone who knew dominic knew that he EXUDED a playful, light energy but today all he could muster was a small smile. he opens his mouth to speak again but is cut off by dawn, who clearly saw through him right now. “well, you’re not wrong.” that’s all he can say before he accepts her invitation, wrapping his arms around her and giving dawn a squeeze. “thank you...for this.” he mutters against the top of her head, feeling some of the tension and sadness leave his body.
