9 - a concerned text !

liv: marls, I mean this with complete sincerity, you are the sweetest person I have ever met!! 

liv: thank you for being my sounding board when it comes to dance ideas and letting me vent frustrations about the dance moms.

“W-what do you mean?” Lia stammered, suddenly scampering behind where Mal stood. Lia trusted her with her life--and while she had no idea what Mal heard, she immediately figured she’d be safer far away from where her eyes were looking. “Like, a squirrel? Or a salamander? Do we have salamanders here at Camp? Can poision ivy move? What if it’s a bear? What if its the Ripper? Mal, I know I am tall but I am all limbs and no coordination. I can’t swing a bat without hitting me in the face. Do you think the Ripper would care if I could list of the thematic elements of A Scarlett Letter? Someone once told me I could put them to sleep with that--we can maybe do that?” The blonde tended to ramble when she was nervous and she was downright terrified at the moment.

One : 

Mal is one of the approximately three people in the Malnati that Brinlee absolutely and completely trusts. Mal pushes her out of her comfort zone and convinces her to do things she never would have considered before, but she goes along with it all because she knows with absolute certainty that Mal would never let anything happen to her. She also considers Mal is to be the person she can open up to and feel safe doing so. 

Two :

Mal is Brin’s style inspiration, particularly when it comes to going out at night. She always goes through her closet with the mindset of ‘what would Mal wear’ and picks her outfits based on that. She also tends to then try it on and send a picture to Mal to get her opinion/approval on it. 

Three :

Brinlee still doesn’t completely understand how or why someone as cool as Mal wants to be friends with her. While she does now feel completely solid in their friendship, in the beginning she was worried that Mal would one day just get bored of being around her and stop talking to her. 

Four : ( tw brief death mention ) 

“Is it?” Nic looked over at Marley, her gaze not quite reaching the brunette. She was looking towards Marley but she wasn’t seeing her. Not really, anyway. The blonde had been mulling over a lot of things recently, not least of which was what her plan would be if her mom did call her back. She hadn’t told anyone she had called her--in fact, to say it out loud meant it actually happened and she wasn’t sure she wanted to solidfy that in any regards. Nic couldn’t bring herself to block the number either, and that terrified her more than anything else. Did...did she want her mom to call again? Would she pick up? Blinking rapidly, she pulled herself back to the situation and Marley. “Hmph, I hadn’t noticed. Why do you say that?”
