JUST KNOW THAT I’LL WILL FIND MY WAY TO YOU
summary: Exes who can’t seem to stay away always find their way back. When Sam goes on a hunt alone, he ends up running into his ex or was it intentional?
warnings: black cat x golden retriever trope! making out, sexual tension, mention of blood and death (not them), reader teasing sam, fluff, different povs, hate everyone but sam (he just can’t know it)
The rain in Ohio didn’t just fall it clung to everything like a damp wool blanket.
Sam sat in front of the seat of the impala, the heater blowing dust and dry air into his face as he stared at the flickering neon sign of the diner. He was supposed to be tracking a shapeshifter.
The heavy thud of the car door shutting was the only sound in the gravel lot, instantly swallowed by the quiet of the night. Sam stepped out into the cool air, his flashlight his flash light cutting a sharp beam through the darkness until it landed on the crumble shape slumped against a nearby concrete barrier. He drew his weapon, stepping closer, but the tension in his shoulders dropped the moment he saw the dark, streaming pool of black blood.
He crouched down, shining the light on the monsters chest.
Sam knew the rules of being an ex-hunter boyfriend: you don't call, you don't look up their coordinates on the police scanners, and you definitely don't hope to run into them on a solo hunt. Yet, as he stared at the clean, precise knife cuts on the monster's chest, he knew. It was her signature. Sharp, efficient, and completely reckless.
He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as he looked down at the freshly slain beast. Even if he hadn’t been the one to drop it, he couldn’t just leave a monster corpse rotting in a diner gravel lot. It took twenty minutes of heavy lifting, dirt under his fingernails, and a makeshift grave behind a row of pine trees to get the job done.
Back in the front seat of the car, Sam turned the key just enough to kick on the dashboard lights. He pulled out his phone and dialed.
It took four rings before a raspy congested voice answered. “yeah?”
"Hey. You alive?" Sam asked, leaning his head back against the headrest.
“Barely,” Dean groaned, followed by the wet, pathetic sound of sneeze. “My head feels like a bowling ball and the motel cable only has three channels. Tell me you got the damn shifter so i can sleep in peace.”
"I found it," Sam said, a small smile tugging at his mouth. "Or, well... someone else did. I just got to the parking lot and it was already dead. Clean slash right through the chest."
There was a long pause on the other end of the line. The sound of shifting blankets echoed through the speaker. "Wait. Clean slash? like you know"
"Yeah," Sam murmured, his voice softening. "Exactly like that."
A heavy, congested chuckle came through the phone. "Oh, man. Your girlfriend's in town. Have fun with that, Sammy."
“She’s my ex, Dean,” Sam rolled his eyes, through there was no real heat in it. “And she’s not my—“
"Whatever you say, kid. Don't do anything I wouldn't do. Which, let's face it, leaves you with zero options. I'm going back to sleep."
The line went dead.
Sam tossed the phone onto the passenger seat, shaking his head with another eye-roll. He put the car in drive and pulled out of the lot, checking his notebook for his next lead a local bar where the victims had last been seen.
As he drove, a strange, warm flutter bloomed in his chest. He tried to brush it off, tried to tell himself he was just focused on the case. But he couldn't deny the sudden, quiet rush of adrenaline at the thought that, sometime tonight, he was going to see her again.
The neon sign of The Rusty Anchor flickered against the damp brick wall, casting a buzzing red glow over the wet pavement. Sam pulled his brown jacket tight against him and pushed open the heavy wooden door. The smell of stale beer and fried food hit him instantly.
He slid onto a stool at the bar, casually flipping open his leather badge wallet to reveal his fake FBI ID. "Evening. Agent Landis. I’m looking into the recent string of unusual deaths in the area."
The bartender, a tired-looking guy wiping down a glass with a dirty rag, barely blinked. “Already talked to one of your partners earlier today, Agent.
Sam’s brow furrowed, head tilted. He and Dean hadn't talked to anyone yet. "My partner?"
"Yeah. Short lady. Had a real attitude on her, too," the bartender said, setting the glass down. "Wore a black jacket, gold rings, and these low-rise jeans. She came in, ordered a club soda, and started asking the exact same questions about the victims. Then she played a single game of pool by herself, cleaned the table, and walked out without saying goodbye."
Sam’s heart gave a sudden, violent thump that the thought of what she’s wearing.
He knew the way she chalked a pool cue, her eyes sharp and scanning the room while pretending to focus on the game. It was her. She was already ahead of him.
"Right," Sam said, clearing his throat and trying to keep his voice completely professional despite the sudden rush of adrenaline. "My partner. Did she say where she was heading next?"
Leaving the bar behind, Sam drove back to the motel, the tires crunching softly on the wet gravel. He slipped his keycard into Dean’s room first to check on him. The space was an absolute disaster empty soup cans littered the nightstand, tissues were piled like tiny snowdrifts on the floor, and Dean was sprawled face-down across the mattress, snoring so loudly the cheap light fixtures practically rattled.
Sam rolled his eyes, a fond but exasperated huff escaping him as he quietly shut the door and walked over to his own room.
He swiped his key, stepped into the dark room, and tossed his duffel bag onto the luggage rack. Weary from the long drive and the grave-digging, he unbuttoned his jacket, tossing it onto the bed, and reached up to take of his shirt. He turned around, pulling the fabric from his collar and froze.
Sitting in the worn armchair in the corner of the dim room, one leg elegantly crossed over the other, was a shadow. As his eyes adjusted, the faint neon light from the motel sign outside caught the slight smile on her lips and the dark, glossy leather of her jacket.
You leaned your head back, lips curving into a slow, wicked smirk.
"You stalking me now, Sammy?" you asked, voice a low, teasing purr that cut straight through the quiet room.
Instantly, a hot, furious blush rushed up Sam's neck, heat blooming across his cheeks. He practically choked on his own breath, his fingers fumbling with shirt as he tried to find his words.
"I—no! I'm not stalking you," he stammered, his voice cracking slightly as he took a hasty, defensive step backward. "I was, I'm on a case. A lead. I was actually just investigating at the bar, and-and how did you even get in here?"
your smirk only widened at his reaction, dark eyes glittering with amusement as you watched him squirm. you loved how easily she could throw the giant, entirely off his game after all she knew how to get under his skin and under him.
"Locks are easy, Winchester," you murmured, standing up slowly, the sheer magnetic pull of her presence filling the small space between them. "And you're still a terrible liar."
you took a slow, deliberate step toward him. The heels of your boots clicked quietly against the cheap linoleum, a sound that seemed to beat in sync with the sudden hammering in Sam’s chest. you stopped just inches away, looking up at him through your eyelashes. your eyes dragged down his frame noting the sharp line of his V line and the way he’s gotten so much bigger , the way his hands still twitched near his collar you were subtly checking him out without a single shred of shame.
you let out a soft, amused hum.
What?" Sam asked, his voice coming out a little breathless. He reached up, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck as he tried to find somewhere else to look besides your lips.
you didn't answer right away. you just stared at him, hiding the way your heart did a tiny, familiar flutter at his sheer awkwardness. you loved that you still had this effect on him.
"What do you got?" you asked finally, tilting your head.
Sam just stood there. He was completely spaced out, drowning in the scent of your perfume and the sheer reality of you being right here in his room. He stared down at you like a hopelessly love-sick puppy, his mind a total, fuzzy blank.
"Huh?" he mumbled, blinking.
you let out a quiet, mocking laugh, your eyes sparkling with mischief. "The case, Winchester. What do you have on the case?"
Sam let out a soft huff, a quiet smile finally breaking through his shyness. He raised his eyebrows at you, crossing his arms over his chest. "First time I've seen you in months, and that's the first thing you have to say to me?"
you let out a slight laugh, rolling your eyes as you took another half-step forward. The distance between them was shrinking fast. "Oh, I’ve seen you, Sammy. You just haven’t seen me."
A fresh wave of heat rushed to his face, but this time, a playful grin tugged at the corner of his mouth. He leaned down slightly, matching your level. "Oh, really? So who’s the stalker now?"
"I’m not stalking, I'm monitoring," your corrected smoothly, your voice dropping to a teasing murmur as you stepped directly into his space. he was close enough now that he could feel the faint warmth radiating from you, close enough to see the quiet, hidden fondness in your eyes that you tried so hard to mask. "There's a difference."
"Right, monitoring," Sam echoed, his voice suddenly thick. He didn't back away this time. Instead, he held her gaze, the playful banter melting into a heavy, charged silence that reminded them both of exactly why they were so dangerous to each other.
"Did you want something?," you muttered, wrapping your arms around his neck. you pulled him in, pressing soft kisses to his neck, taking your time to build what you’re were about to do to him. When you sucked at the spot right beneath his ear, he let out a whimper, throwing his head back slightly to give her more access to his neck and more.
The tension breaks the moment you close the final inch of distance between them, Sam’s mind completely shorts out. His hands hover in the air for a fraction of a second
Within seconds, he wrapped his arms around you and leaned in deeper into the kiss that grew deeper by the second.
When you tried to pull away to get the air you needed and so does sam but he wouldn't let you, he pulled you deeper by the waist. You pull him down more your tongue slipping in his mouth. He lets out a loud whimper understandably. You two haven’t , held and kissed each other in months and that was enough reason for sam. He had been waiting for this. Craving you.
Craving your lips on his, craving your hands wandering up and down his body, craving you whispering sweet nothings into his ears. Telling you how much you missed him. Telling him how good he was for you.
you slowly push him back, guiding him towards the bed. smoothly taking off your jacket.
click
The sharp, sudden sound of a card swiping in the connecting door shatters the silence.
The door flies open, and Dean freezes in the threshold, wrapped in a blanket, looking pale, congested, and completely bewildered. "What the hell?" he croaks, his voice thick with a head cold.
You pull away from Sam smoothly, not a single hair out of place, while Sam hurry’s and stand up looking flushed, breathless, and looking like he just got caught stealing from the cookie jar. You look over at Dean, and roll your eyes.
"Shut up, Dean," you say flatly.
Without another word, you brush past him, stepping out into the cool night air. The heavy motel door slams shut behind you, the sound echoing through the gravel lot.
a/n: yes there is a part 2 (maybe😗) and this is not edited sorry!!!
trying to write smut is not ideal bruh i’m feeling so awkward 🥲
Hey!! so first of all could you maybe update your masterlist because I thought those were your only fics but since I wanted to read more of your work I scrolled through your page and thankfully found more. And could I request that you write a fic where the reader is best friends with Dean and Sam has a crush on her and he’s scared to tell her but they talk and confess their feelings. It could end with smut but I don’t know if that’s out of your comfort zone. Also thank you for writing Sam fics, he is my favorite character ever. Please never stop.
Thank you girly!! 💗
sorry!! i’m so lazy i keep forgetting 😭
and i’ll get to that request 😗

Sam x reader where reader just loves being on his lap and is like the cuddliest clingiest person ever? <33
fic here
sam and his clingy gf [requested]
The room was quiet, save for the soft hum of the air conditioner and the low audio of a movie playing on the television one you both had seen a dozen times before, serving more as background noise than actual entertainment.
Sam sat on the center of the couch, leaning back against the cushions. But he wasn’t sitting alone. You were completely curled up in his lap, your head tucked securely into the crook of his neck, with your arms wrapped tightly around his middle.
To anyone else, it might have looked like an awkward or overly attached position, but to you, it was the only place you wanted to be. You had always been naturally affectionate, but around Sam, that trait amplified tenfold. You were unapologetically clingy, constantly seeking out his warmth, his scent, and the steady, grounding presence he always provided.
Sam didn’t mind it in the slightest. In fact, the moment you had climbed onto his lap earlier in the evening, his arms had automatically looped around your waist, pulling you flush against him. One of his large hands rested flat against your back, occasionally tracing slow, soothing circles through the fabric of your shirt, while his other hand gently stroked your hair.
"You comfortable?" Sam murmured, his deep voice vibrating slightly against your chest where you leaned against him.
You gave a small, contented nod, shifting just enough to press your face closer into his shoulder. "Very," you whispered, your voice thick with sleepiness. You tightened your grip around his waist, anchoring yourself to him.
He let out a soft huff of laughter, a warm sound that made you smile against his skin. "Good. Because I don't think I could move even if I wanted to. You're like a human koala."
"I am not," you mumbled playfully, though you didn't make any move to loosen your hold. If anything, you pulled yourself a fraction closer, overlapping your legs with his.
"You absolutely are," Sam countered gently, his fingers gently tangling in the strands of your hair, untangling a small knot with immense patience. "Every time I sit down, you magically appear within five seconds. Not that I'm complaining."
It was true. Whether he was reading a book, working on something, or just relaxing, you always found a way to bridge the distance between you. If you couldn't sit in his lap, you were holding his hand, resting your head on his shoulder, or keeping your ankle hooked over his. But being right here, wrapped up in his arms while resting entirely on his lap, was your absolute favorite. It felt safe, warm, and completely secure.
The movie on the screen shifted to a brighter scene, casting a soft glow across the room. Sam shifted his weight slightly to get more comfortable, ensuring you wouldn't slip. His movements were slow and deliberate, always careful with you.
You let out a soft sigh, completely relaxed under the steady rhythm of his breathing. The sheer comfort of his presence, combined with the gentle, repetitive motion of his hand stroking your back, was rapidly making your eyelids heavy.
"Tired?" he asked softly, noticing the way your breathing had slowed down.
"A little," you admitted, your words slightly slurred as you drifted on the edge of sleep. You forced your eyes open for just a second, looking up at him. From this angle, you could see the soft expression in his eyes, completely devoid of the usual seriousness he carried throughout the day. Here, in the quiet of the evening, he was entirely relaxed.
Sam leaned down, pressing a gentle, lingering kiss to the top of your head. "Go to sleep," he murmured against your hair. "I've got you."
Hearing those words, any remaining resistance you had to the fatigue evaporated. You squeezed him one last time, a silent thank you, before letting your muscles go completely slack against him. Your breathing evened out into a deep, peaceful rhythm.
Sam kept his arms securely around you, continuing the slow circles on your back long after you fell asleep, perfectly content to stay exactly where he was for the rest of the night.
a/n: lowkey bad but i needed to get something out🫣

would u ever write a fic where reader gets drunk and trusts sam to bring them home safely but he takes advantage of them ?? preferably female reader !
no specific scenario
— 🐾🎀
girly… that sounds like rape which i would NOT be doing…🧍🏽♀️
even though i'm not bothered by the hate asks i received i can't lie that it really makes me not want to write😭 i can have an idea and almost start it but after seeing the ask it's like what's the point? the idea can still live nicely in my head, appreciated and accepted without the want of recognition and praise, and without the risk rejection and mockery.. i guess it just helped lower my desire to write, or altered my purpose for it.
like mainly i wrote whenever i had an idea, purely self indulgent to see my ideas come to life and also enjoy any comments or reblogs along the way but now it's like i said, i can just make the idea come alive in my head where i know it'll be safe from perception.
but to counter my own thoughts, this is still a safe space for my ideas, where many have supported me and encouraged me through the time of making this account, i think i just have to find that passion that'd help me push through that same habit of avoidance, isolating and silencing myself?
this is purely a yapfest not meant as a announcement or anything JUST NEEDED TO RANT A LIL😭
i really need people to stop being mean to my bsf like seriously this is getting out of hand!!!!

The boundaries between you and Sam had been blurred for months, a messy slate of unsaid feelings and late-night conversations in the quiet of the kitchen. Everyone else could see it. The way his eyes constantly tracked you when you walked into a room, the way his voice dropped an octave whenever he spoke directly to you, and the sheer tenderness in how he looked after you after a rough case. He was entirely, completely yours for the taking. All you had to do was reach out and claim him.
But instead, you panicked. Every single time things got too close to becoming real, you pulled back.
One night, you would be curled up next to him on the couch, your head resting against his broad shoulder, letting him wrap his large hand around yours under the guise of staying warm. You would look up at him with an intensity that made his breath catch, letting your fingers linger on his jawline, giving him every possible green light.
You made him feel like he was the only person in your world, letting him believe that the next step was finally within reach.
But by the next morning, the walls would slam right back up. You would pull your hand away if his fingers brushed yours over coffee. You would treat him with a cold, professional distance that left him completely reeling, cutting off his attempts at conversation with short, clipped answers.
You told yourself you were just protecting yourself, that the hunting life was too chaotic for a real relationship. But in reality, you were just keeping him on a leash giving him just enough hope to stay hooked, only to yank it away the moment he tried to step closer.
Sam wasn't stupid. He felt every single shift in your temperature. At first, his green eyes would just fill with a quiet, confused hurt, his shoulders dropping slightly as he accepted the sudden distance. He would try harder, thinking he had done something wrong, only for you to lean back into him a few days later when you felt lonely. It was a exhausting cycle of hot and cold, a constant emotional whiplash that began to slowly wear him down to the bone.
The breaking point arrived without a loud argument. It happened quietly, on a standard spirit case in Ohio. A local hunter named Elena had joined the fray to help track down the lore. She was sharp, grounded, and entirely uncomplicated. And unlike you, she didn't play games.
At first, you didn't think anything of it. You were in one of your "cold" phases, actively ignoring Sam at the diner table, keeping your eyes glued to your phone while he tried to share a lead with you. When you dismissively shrugged him off, Elena simply slid into the empty seat next to him, picking up the conversation exactly where you had dropped it. She listened to him. She actually looked at him when he spoke, validating his theories without making him guess where he stood.
Over the next two weeks, the dynamic shifted entirely.
You noticed it first in the way Sam stopped looking to you for approval. When you entered the room, his eyes stayed fixed on his book or on Elena, who was usually sitting nearby sharing a thermos of coffee with him. The heavy, lingering stares he used to give you were gone, replaced by a polite, distant nod. He stopped text-checking to see if you were okay after hunts. He stopped saving the seat next to him.
One evening, you walked into the local library to find them tucked away in a back corner. Elena was laughing softly at something he said, her hand resting casually on his forearm. Sam didn't pull away. He didn't tense up the way he used to when you touched him in public. Instead, he offered her a genuine, relaxed smile the kind of smile that used to be reserved entirely for you.
A cold spike of dread struck right through your chest. For months, you had taken his devotion for granted, entirely secure in the belief that he would always be waiting in the wings whenever you finally decided you were ready. You had assumed his patience was infinite. Watching him lean in closer to listen to Elena speak, you realized with terrifying clarity that you had pushed him right into someone else's arms.
The ride back to your temporary lodgings was completely agonizing. You sat in the backseat, watching the back of Sam's head through the rearview mirror. For the past year, he would have been constantly glancing back at you, checking in through the mirror, silently communicating with just a look.
Tonight, he was completely checked out, turning his torso toward the passenger seat to talk quietly with Elena about the next day's travel plans.
The realization hit you like a physical blow: you had lost him. You had run your fingers through his hair, whispered promises of what could be, and then discarded him over and over again until he finally believed you didn't want him.
The weight of your own actions began to suffocate you. The mixed signals hadn't protected you they had just ruined the best thing that had ever happened to you.
You spent the entire night staring at the ceiling of your motel room, listening to the muffled sound of Sam's low laugh coming from the adjacent room where he and Elena were finishing up the paperwork. Every chuckle felt like a twist of a knife in your heart. You couldn't let it end like this. You had to fix it.
The next afternoon, Elena left early to scout out a nearby courthouse, leaving Sam alone in the main room of the motel to pack up his duffel bag. This was your chance. Your heart hammered violently against your ribs as you stepped out of your room, your hands trembling as you closed the distance between you and the tall hunter.
"Sam?" your voice was uncharacteristically small, breaking slightly in the quiet room.
Sam paused, his large hands resting on the edge of his duffel bag. He didn't turn around immediately. When he finally did, his expression was completely unreadable devoid of the warmth, the longing, and the desperation that used to define every interaction he had with you.
"Yeah? Something wrong with the truck?" he asked, his tone entirely polite, like he was speaking to a passing acquaintance not someone he once loved.
"No, the truck is fine," you said, taking a step closer, your chest heaving as the words you had bottled up for days began to spill out. "It's about us, Sam. I... I've been seeing you with Elena. And it made me realize how horribly I’ve been treating you. I know I’ve been pushing you away, and I know I’ve been giving you mixed signals, but I was just scared. I really want this, Sam. I want us. Please."
You reached out, your fingers trembling as you tried to grasp his hand, desperate for the familiar warmth that had always been your safety net.
But Sam smoothly stepped back, letting your hand fall empty into the cold air between you. Your heart dropped but you weren’t gonna let that stop you.
He let out a long, heavy sigh, rubbing the bridge of his nose beneath his bangs. There was no anger in his face just a profound, crushing exhaustion that made you feel completely microscopic.
"I can't do this anymore," Sam whispered, his voice cracking with a dull, heavy ache. "For months, I stayed up late wondering what I did wrong. One day you’re holding my hand, telling me you need me, and the next day you won't even look at me in front of Dean. You kept me on a string, and it completely broke me."
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," you sobbed, the tears finally spilling over your cheeks as you tried to close the gap between you again. "I'll change, Sam. I swear. Just give me another chance. Don't look at her the way you used to look at me."
Sam looked down at you, his green eyes swimming with a faint trace of old sorrow, but his stance remained completely rigid. He didn't reach out to wipe your tears. He didn't pull you into his chest like he you used he stared like he looking at someone he once knew.
"Elena doesn't make me guess if she cares about me," Sam said softly, the brutal honesty of his words cutting right through you. "She doesn't treat me like a secret or an inconvenience when things get real. I spent so long wishing you would just choose me. But you didn't. You only want me now because someone else finally does. You don’t get to come back after months treating me like i’m a dog on a leash."
He zipped up his duffel bag with a sharp, definitive click and swung the strap over his broad shoulder. He looked at you one last time, his expression completely guarded, leaving absolutely no room for the comfort you were begging for.
"I need space," he muttered quietly, turning his back on you as he walked toward the door. "We're partners on the job. That's it."
The door clicked shut behind him, leaving you entirely alone in the sudden, suffocating silence of the room, completely crushed under the weight of the mess you had made.
“ no i don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t”
a/n: first angst open to feedback but this is a reference from my past relationship and ariana grande song “don’t wanna break up again” give it a listen while reading, this is gonna be a small mini series also💗!
