          ⥽  amelie  GASPS  at  the  sight  of  the  bills,  her  hand  coming  up  to  slap  over  her  mouth  to  hold  in  her  laughs.  ❝  SIX  bucks  ?!  my  god,  we  should  just  E A T  the  rich;  and  yes,  that  includes  your  little  girlfriend,  aj.  i  know  that  video  game  of  hers  is  racking  up  the  big  bucks — but  she’s  gotta  go  !  ❞  amelie  chuckles  again,  shaking  her  head  as  she  bumps  her  shoulder  against  aj’s.  the  playful  and  joking  air  between  them  gets  sucked  out  pretty  rapidly,  replaced  by  a  quiet  silence  as  she  follows  him  to  his  car.  ❝  yeah,  ❞  she  whispers,  thinking  of  charlotte  at  her  door - step  with  bruises  all  over  her  face  and  a  broken  ankle.  ❝  that’s  one  way  to  put  it.  ❞

          ⥽   amelie  gives  her  a  warm  smile,  thankful  to  see  the  younger  girl  outside  of  her  door.  she  would’ve  gone  and  seen  charlotte  herself,  but  she  was  sure  the  sophomore  was  already  being  SWAMPED  with  visitors,  so  amelie  would  simply  wait  for  the  other  to  come  around.  ❝  this  absolutely  makes  up  for  it;  don’t  worry.  c’mon  in,  i  just  dolled  up  the  couch — we  can  sit  and  eat  and  watch  something.  how’s  the  ankle  ?  ❞  mother  hen  instincts  kick  in  IMMEDIATELY,  helping  charlotte  into  her  room  and  shutting  the  door  behind  them.

          ⥽  shoving  her  apron  into  her  bag,  the  ballerina  SIGHS  as  she  looks  up  at  aj  walking  alongside  her.  ❝  what  a  NIGHT,  huh  ??  ❞  food  industry  was  a  nightmare,  in  her  oh  so  humble  opinion.  ❝  did  you  see  that  lady  that  literally  screamed  at  me  because  i  brought  them  the  wrong  order  ?  ❞  locking  the  front  doors  to  the  establishment,  she  drops  them  into  her  bag.  ❝  would  you,  uh...  would  you  mind  giving  me  a  ride  home,  aj  ?  ❞  usually,  amelie  would  just  walk,  but...  she’s  not  so  sure  how  she  feels  walking  home  ALONE  after  the  events  of  the  night  before.

          ⥽  to  say  she  was  WORRIED  was  an  understatement.  in  fact,  she  had  been  thinking  about  it  all  day.  every  class  she  attended,  the  thought  still  loomed  in  the  back  of  her  mind.  maybe...  maybe  she  should  go  home  ??  her  parents  had  already  expressed  their  worries  and  discomfort  of  amelie  attending  holloway,  and  tried  to  coax  her  back  to  the  colourful  town  of  salento.  ❝  don’t  even  worry  about  it.  ❞  she  offers  with  a  smile,  watching  him  for  a  moment.  she’s  SURE  sam  doesn’t  wanna  talk  about  it  (  i  mean,  she  sure  wouldn’t  )  so  she  doesn’t  ask.  ❝  happens  to  the  best  of  us.  ❞

          ⥽  her  face  FLUSHES  just  at  the  thought  alone,  cheeks  a  rosy  shade  of  red  as  she  looks  to  the  other  hanging  off  of  her  shoulder  for  what  seemed  like  dear  life. she  had  no  problem  with  holding  him  up,  deeming  herself  as  one  of  the  designated  sober  people  around  here;  just  to  make  sure  nobody  died  of  alcohol  poisoning.  ❝  i  don’t  think  i’ve  ever  skinny -  dipped  in  my  LIFE.  ❞  amelie  shakes  her  head,  waving  the  thought  away  as  she  wraps  an  arm  around  benny’s  waist.  ❝  we  should  sit  you  down.  ❞

          ⥽  oh,  the  college  experience.  beer - pong  in  the  woods,  surrounded  by  equally  as  drunk  other  collge  students;  amelie  couldn’t  imagine  herself  ANYWHERE  else,  if  she  was  honest.  ❝  i  am  quite  literally  the  W O R S T  choice  for  beer  pong;  i  don’t  think  i’ve  ever  even  played  it  before  !  ❞  she  has  a  wide  grin  painted  to  her  face,  thinking  the  gesture  of  PROPOSING  with  the  ping  pong  ball  was  pretty  much  already  a  selling  point  for  her.  ❝  alright,  but  don’t  be  mad  when  i  absolutely  tank  us,  cause  i  warned  you  !  ❞

          ⥽  when  winslet  continues  up  her  bit,  amelie  feels  an  immeasurable  amount  of  JOY  in  her  chest.  even  after  the  break - up,  she  was  happy  she  could  still  call  winslet  a  friend.  even  if  something  still  lingered  in  the  back  of  their  minds  for  each  other,  that  didn’t  matter;  nothing  was  ever  awkward  between  them  and  that’s  all  amelie  could  ask  for.  ❝  why,  you’d  simply  go  m a d  without  me,  wouldn’t  you  ??  ❞  she  smiles  as  she  bumps  her  shoulder  against  the  blonde’s,  taking  a  moment  to  consider  what  she  wanted  to  eat.  ❝  i  think...  i  think  i  could  go  for  pizza.  like,  just  a  really  disgusting  and  greasy  pizza.  ❞  the  types  of  food  amelie  wasn’t  allowed  growing  up,  and  food  that  amelie  still  didn’t  really  eat  despite  being  on  her  own  now.  she  pauses  as  she  considers  winslet’s  question;  one  that  she  had  been  asking  HERSELF  for  a  little  while  now.  ❝  maybe,  i’m  not  sure  yet..  will  you  be  going  ?  ❞  amelie  tries  not  to  sound  EAGER  when  she  asks  in  return;  or  prove  how  winslet’s  answer  may  influence  her  own.

          ⥽  amelie  listens  INTENTLY,  her  full  attention  on  the  girl  huddled  under  the  umbrella  with  her.  the  ballerina  was  one  to  ramble  herself  if  she  was  honest,  but  thankfully  she  usually  had  her  friend  around  who  knew  when  to  turn  her  o f f  button  on.  ❝  that  honestly  sounds  adorable.  you  should  show  me  sometime  !  i  know  it’s  that’s  such  a  weird  and  minuscule  thing  to  say,  but  i  love  umbrella’s  with  cutesy  designs.  it’s  the  little  things  to  appreciate,  y’know  what  i  mean  ?  ❞

          ⥽  a  chuckle  leaves  amelie’s  lips,  glancing  up  at  the  dark  clouds  that  didn’t  show  a  single  sign  of  parting  any - time  soon.  ❝  the  weather  app  said  there  was  a  fifty  eight  percent  chance  for  rain.  ❞  she  hums  informatively,  offering  the  shelter  of  her  umbrella  to  the  other  girl.  ❝  no,  actually.  it’s  amelie.  but,  uh...  close  enough,  i  suppose.  ❞ 

          ⥽  a  wide  grin  paints  itself  to  the  ballerina’s  face,  easily  falling  into  a  quick  round  of  theatrics  with  the  blonde.  ❝  why,  my  darling,  of  course  !!  it  is  i,  your  faithful  and  trusty  hero.  here  to  shelter  you  from  god’s  mighty  wrath  of  a  storm.  ❞  amelie  smiles  as  she  holds  her  umbrella  up  for  them,  her  wide  grin  turning  into  something  softer  at  how  close  they  had  suddenly  got;  huddled  together  under  the  umbrella.  ❝  will  you  be  buying  ??  ❞

          ⥽  a  frown  paints  itself  onto  her  lips  when  she  sees  him  using  a  text - book  as  protection  from  the  rain,  trying  to  look  at  the  damage  of  the  book  once  they’re  under  the  safety  of  her  umbrella.  ❝  we  might  be  able  to  save  it.  ❞  she  tries  to  be  as  optimistic  about  the  situation  at  hand  as  she  can.  ❝  it’s  a  pleasure  to  meet  you,  santiago  !  i’m  amelie.  ❞

          ⥽  amelie  giggles  sweetly,  leaning  against  the  bar - top  as  she  turns  to  her  new  FRIEND.  ❝  watching  me  all  night,  hm  ?  ❞  she  muses,  giving  the  bartender  a  polite  nod  as  she  takes  her  drink.  ❝  sounds  like  something  a  total  axe  murderer  would  say.  ❞  she  sips  at  her  drink  for  a  moment,  a  nod  of  her  head  as  she  turns  her  attention  back  to  sloane.  ❝  well,  better  now  that  i’ve  got  you  here.  what  about  you  ?  ❞
