2024 vs 2022, a “humanoid” alien with a mosquito-like face!

I made a size chart for the characters so you can get a sense of how big they are in relation to each other! Nora is 5' 4" (162 cm). Takalik is 7' 2" (218 cm). All other species represent average heights.

Hello to all extraterrestrials. This year will be seven years since I began working in my spec settings. Ofcourse, it all started much earlier, but the first predecessors of the universe of Gastarbeiters appeared around 2020-2022s.

⬆️ Antphants:

Until 2025, I called these aliens "Antdeers". They were the first and inspired by birrins, which were created by Alex Ries (@alexriesart). In these previous designs, you may notice that they were fluffier and had less muscle. But in the design of year 2023 there is a duck-down baby antphant. The dark-featured Antphant on right top is Abdu. They is my original character Antphant for "Gastarbeiters".

⬆️ Aviens:

They were the next. I decided to create the winged alien. Their first design was inspired by birgs, which were created by Iguanodon't (@iguanodont). Until December of 2024, Aviens were small, plush creatures with reduced wings and a short neck. They resembled large, fluffy moths. Redesign made them taller and more elegant. Now, their heads look more like those of rabbits. By the way, color variation of their plumage founded on pigeons. So, the red-feathered Avien on right top is Oziiteil (Ozi/Teil).

!Warning! Fanfiction about my life: As you can see, my designs were inspired of very diverse set of artworks and concepts from different authors. There are artists from Deviantart, tumblr and classics of speculative biology. However, I started my way by watching Star Wars and Star Trek. And I didn't understand why so many aliens looked like humans in suits. Why all this species can breath in same atmosphere? My world turned upside down when I first saw the "Alien Planet" and read "Expedition", and bit later watched "Alien Worlds". I started from some kind of extraterrestrial field guide called by me as "Known Worlds", and I created four differen planets. Later I fined works of Alex Ries and some other artists like Christian Cline (author of "The Teeming Universe"), Tamari Drenckhahn (author of ”Phtanum b") and Michael Alexander (author of "Alien Biosphere"). And I had creating biosphers. But one day turn all... I don't remember what I search, but I found one picture with very interesting creature. I started my own research and discover the perfect alien world of tumblr... I remember how it is today, I saw little centaur in the pet carrier. I discovered "Runaway to the Stars"

Hello, extraterrestrials! Here you'll sea the most mysterious and unik creatures in the sector and Orion Arm! In the text below, these species will be described clockwise from top left.

Eng-Edition

TALs 1 (aka Triangulars):

They are the oldest and most advanced space sophont in the sector and the Milky Way and the first known specie of TAL's civilization. Presumably, coming from the subglacial ocean on the extraterrestrial moon, they have all adaptations to living in outer space without the influence of gravity and starlight. According to some data, Triangulars have a large morphological diversity. Just like with Disko, this may be due to genetic engineering or eugenics.

TALs 2 (aka Gliders):

The second species of TALs could have been born in the storm world, like a smaller version of Neptune (the last ice giant in human Homesystem). It's a massive planet with very dense, humid atmosphere composed of helium, hydrogen and nitrogen. They are also the second sophont adapted to atmosphere flight. But, unlike Aviens, Gliders use jet-flight.

Now, Triangulars and Gliders form a united interspecies population called the TAL civilization. They inhabit territory called Conglomerate, that contacts with Solar Region, AVI and Diskos' systems.

Shrimgels:

Living on a small greenhouse planet, the young industrial civilization of the Shrimgels is now a few steps away from a climate catastrophe. Amphibian marine sophonts are a very rare case in the sector like flying and bipedal humanoid sophonts. But Shrimgels are both of these types of creatures. Due to their two legs, one large eye and bean-like shells, Shrimgels look a bit sussy. But these bivalve shells are very important for terrestrial locomotion, by keeping water close to the gills. And the special-looking wings make them very mobile on coral reefs.

Virmexes:

First discovered by AVI during their early expansion, Virmexes had a difficult destiny. Without states, they were very vulnerable. For a long time, these multilegged creatures born in a world with harsh climate and high gravity were used as a free labor force during the development of their native planet by the Aviens. Finaly, after decades of exploitation Virmexes got their independence from AVI and some important technologies. But the first Avien's interspecies integration program failed. Virmexes have voluntarily returned to their traditional life, and the Aviens have left this system. The current situation is unknown.

Это наиболее древние и продвинутые космические софонты во всём секторе и Млечном Пути, а также первый известный вид цивилизации ТАЛ. Предположительно, родом из подлёдного океана инопланетной луны, они имеют все приспособления для обитания в открытом космосе без воздействия гравитации и звёздного света. По некоторым данным, существует большое морфологическое разнообразие Триангуляров. Также как и у Диско это может быть связано с генной инженерией или евгеникой.

ТАЛы 2 (или Планеры):

Второй вид ТАЛов мог появиться в мире бурь, который был уменьшенной копией Нептуна (последнего ледяного гиганта в родной системе человека). Это огромная планета с очень плотной и влажной атмосферой, состоящей из гелия, водорода и азота. Также они - вторые софонты, приспособившиеся к атмосферному полёту. Но, в отличие от Авиенов, Планеры используют реактивный полёт.

Теперь Триангуляры и Планеры образуют единую межвидовую популяцию, называемую цивилизацией ТАЛ. Они населяют территорию, называемую Конгломерат, которая соприкасается с Солнечным регионом, АВИ и системами Диско.

Кревенгелы:

Живущая на небольшой планете-теплице молодая индустриальная цивилизация Кревенгелов уже находится в нескольких шагах от климатической катастрофы. Земноводные морские софонты - очень редкий случай в секторе, как и летающие, и двуногие гуманоидные софонты. Но Кревенгелы относятся ко всем этим типам сразу. Из-за своих двух ног, одного глаза и раковин бобовидной формы Кревенгелы выглядят немного подозрительно. Но эти двустворчатые раковины очень важны при наземном передвижении, удерживая воду вблизи жабр. А своеобразные крылья делают их очень маневренными на коралловых рифах.

Вирмексы:

Впервые открытых АВИ в период ранней экспансии, Вирмексов ожидала незавидная судьба. Ещё не имея государств, они были очень уязвимы. Долгое время эти многоногие создания, рожденный в мире с жестоким климатов и высокой гравитацией, использовались в качестве бесплатной рабочей силы при освоении Авиенами их родной планеты. Спустя десятилетия эксплуатации Вирмексы наконец получили независимость от АВИ и некоторые важные технологии. Но первая программа межвидовой интеграции Авиенов провалилась. Вирмексы добровольно вернулись к своему исходному образу жизни, а Авиены покинули систему. Современное положение дел неизвестно.

These are the all known sophonts in the Milky Way. I don't know what the next post will be about. Maybe it will be a post about the inspiration in creature design of these aliens and the artists who inspired me in this way.

At last, I have finished— Mergators are sophonts that are native to planet aptum, they evolved in temperate river deltas and banks, they’re octopods that use their 2 hind pairs as paddling fins while the front pair are either used in seizing prey or manipulating objects and tools. They evolved as ambush predators akin to crocodiles, however they used simple traps to capture and seize prey, they have the largest variety of domesticated mammals, from herded fish-like or cattle-like animals, to traveling shark/whale-like beasts of burden, to dog-like hunting partners, and several others.

Cardassian - evolved for a wetland environment, mostly piscivores. not great at running and are a bit clumsy on dry terrain. 2nd, very limited mobility serrated ”beak” jaw inside the main beak. based their design off herons and bitterns

Klingon - evolved for a dry, cold tundra environment, omnivorous, willing to eat most things due to their harsh environment, digestive system is similar to vultures. based their design off ratites and vultures
