In the aftermath of Adam and Eve's exile from the Garden, an angel and a demon share shelter under a wing. What follows is 6,000 years told through two celestial perspectives and all the things that were left unsaid.

And after 6000 years of that? of Aziraphale looking at him and saying "Deep down, I've always known "- even when he was risking both their lives just to say it out loud - all he gets from Aziraphale is what a good boy you've been Crowley, love the little pinky bit in the nebula, mhhhmmm???? after 6000 years he doesn't even get Aziraphale to acknowledge or love him for who he IS, who he built himself to be, but because he was God's best angel???

I'll just come right out and say it: I was disappointed, and even a little depressed, by Good Omens 3. (And if you liked it, good for you - this post is not an attack on anyone.) After Season 2, I had read many, MANY fan-written versions of Season 3 and I now think that many of the fan fics were better than the canon version. Of course, I've read plenty of bad GO3 fan fics as well, and I've been coping by thinking of the canon version as just another entry on the "that didn't work" pile.

I've also been coping by re-reading my favorites, so I thought I'd share my Top 5. If you're also depressed, I hope they cheer you up!

Hi! :D I did a GO rewatch before S3 came out and had all kinds of feelings about them (again). I wrote half of this fic in my notes app then and cleaned it up a few weeks ago. It’s a 5+1 set during and just after S1. Enjoy!!

Summary:

Humans had always assumed this or that about them and would continue to do so. It didn't matter. Did it?

Five times humans through the ages assume Crowley is Aziraphale's lover. Five times Aziraphale has all kinds of complicated feelings about it. And once... well, Crowley's perspective on the situation.

They also aren’t just a typical gay couple. They aren’t technically men and they’re really the only person the other could fall in love with, which is why many (i am part of this many!) headcannon them as being a-spec. Additionally, angels are described as sexless, which can be interpreted as them being genderless and/or asexual. Sure, we don’t know their human counterparts’ identities but it’s the fact that these identities are baked into the characters that has made them so appealing to so many queer readers and viewers, myself included.
